So I'm surfing the ESPN web site, and the 16-game winning streak gets ONE story, and no other analysis. Even the Daily Dime only had a little blurb about it, and I think that was about Landry. Meanwhile, the Celtics and Pistons get the main stories, and even on Truehoop, Henry's not posting a damn thing about it. When will we ever get the love we deserve, man??? I guess it's a good thing, this way the Rockets won't let the streak get to their heads, since on one's talking about it nationally it seems like.
I bet they were busy with the "Yao's out, season's over" thinking, its hard for them to switch their mindset. We made Adrian Wojnarowski officially shut up after his last blog over a week ago: His last blog
Win tonight in Dallas and at home against New Orleans on Saturday and the media will start loving on the winning streak.
Ha, then they need to actually WATCH some of these games. I don't think ANY of us thought they'd be playing the way they are now. Don't get me wrong, having Yao there would be tremendously awesome, but for real, they don't look lost without him or anything. Well, the offense does sag sometimes, but defensively we haven't lost a step. They better be giving us props after we beat Dallas. Then again, they'll probably say "Oh but Dallas didn't have Dirk". Well we don't have Yao!
Who cares if we do or do not get the respect we deserve? As long as we keep winning, I couldn't care less if ESPN spends 10 seconds on the Rockets during Sports Center.
right on. why is anyone concerned whether or not someone is respecting us as long as we're winning? the less respect the better the victories taste.
Rox losing the streak will be more of a news than them continuing to win.. that's how it is but f*** espn.. we don't need their validation
Not only that, but I like that our team is constantly hearing about how "bad" they are. Makes them play with more fire and prove the critics wrong.
Leader my a**!! More like the World Wide Leader in sports bandwagoning since 1979 If you're not named the Lakers, Celtics, Patriots, or Yankees, don't expect to be talked about for more than 30 seconds; otherwise you're just wasting our time of our top-notch anaylists like Stephen A Smith or Emmitt Smith, who has a PHD in English. Thank you, ESPN. Really, the only thing you're good for is the occasional highlights of Rockets games that I miss; otherwise, you're just full of talking ignoramus
Ha, I'm laughing at even the thought of Stephen A. Why is he there? Don't tell me it's because black people like him, because they don't. I think he's there to irritate everyone on purpose. Otherwise, I see no reason to keep him on there, since he's a definite channel-changer.
It's kind of funny I think how blind people are to the fact that the Rockets are a great team. On the Mavs board people are saying the 15-game winning streak is almost meaningless even though most of the teams the Rockets have beat in the streak have also beat the Mavs this season. Weren't the Rockets 15-17 at one point this season? 25-3 is pretty impressive. But who cares if the sports writers don't want to pay the Rocket's attention, just keep winning.
I can understand their position. Let's do a full page front spread for 15 in a row. . . and again for 16 in a row . . . and again for 17, 18, 19. How many times can you use it as the lead story. The past 3 or 4 games have made the front page of ESPN.com, alway with a title like "Rox win streak at . . ." And as we speak (type), Carl Landry has his mug plastered on the front page. Not LeBron who dropped 50 last night. Carl Freaking Landry.
because they signed him to a talk show contract and once his show failed miserably they have to stick him somewhere.
Exactly. Let's face it - we haven't been out of the first round in over 10 years. And we're not going to get any respect from anyone until we do.
