I'm Chinese,I will love Yao for ever ,love Rockets for ever whatever Yao is retired or not.Because Rockets is part of my life now.
Like many here, I started to watch Rockets when Yao joined. But now watch them with or without Yao. And will continue to watch them when Yao retires. You need some sort of reason to get interested in something, and then it becomes a habit, a way of life. Can't see myself supporting any other team in the NBA now...
of course we do. I focus on this team for many years,as many rockets fans in China. If you have interest to look some major website in China,you will see Rockets fans still have great passion on Hoston rockets,maybe much bigger than here, everyone in China is still focus on this team,hoping that it can creat a miracle. Actually to say,it's Yao make us to watch NBA,and love NBA.Billions fans of Rockets in China now!
This has been asked a couple of times, thats why when you look at my original post I asked what the "general consensus" was. I understand that people on clutchfans will still follow the Rockets and thats great, however I was hoping that they could give us some insight as to what their friends family and others not familiar with the site think. don't panic,we don't leave.We are basketball fans of course we are Yao's fans.When Yao is not in the court I still watch every game,because Yao don't leave ROX.And ROX play so well and get a sixteen straight win.I love ROX.Of course I wish Laker win when laker is playing with UTA.I think many local people love KOBE.isn't it .WHY ?It's because of basket.

Dude, don't try to stereotype all Chinese Rockets fans are ***. I have followed Rockets since Francis era and have been proud of the Moses Malone-Ralph Samson-Olajuown tradition. It's even better when Yao joined the Rockets, but Yao getting injured doesn't make be less of a Rockets fan.

I've been there buddy, cursing 骂了隔壁 over and over when we blew out huge lead again and again and again last season, earlier this season... Thank god Adelman finally gets everything working, and everyone is involved in offense while still solid in defense. That's team-ball and that's what we ROX fans enjoy watching! No ***, no ***, we are ROF from all over the world! GO ROX!
I am a Chinese. I've been a rockets fan since 1999. Even at the steve franchise era when the rockets couldn't even make the playoffs, I was still attached to every game they played. Even if yao's traded by the rockets, I'd still be rooting for the rockets for the rest of my life. The only difference would be that I might pay some attention to the other team yao's traded to. The statement "All Chinese rockets fans are ****" is just unfounded and stereotypal. There IS some sort of country proud in it, but it's not like the kind of thing that has been exaggerated by some media (I'm proud of Yi too but I never watch his game). Can we just focus more on the rockets winning streak instead of those non-game-related talks (I didn't mean this thread is non-sense )?
I luv da team long before Yao joinin'. I'd lived & studied in Houston for 7 years. I was at the parade when we won da 1st ring. So...what's da purpose of this thread?
I like this team. But to be honest I am Rockets' fan just because of Yao. Other than that, I have no relation with Houston (well, I got flight connections at houston for several times). But as long as Yao is with Rockets, I am with you guys. If he get traded (I mean if), I will hop to some other team for sure. Please note that although most of Chinese fans are like me, they are not ***. Actually, I prefer Rockets won but Yao had a bad game more than Yao had a good one but lost the game. Anyway, Yao's success totally adhere to how far Rockets can go. I am still watching the game. Let's go for 17 in a row...
