I have watched 240 consecutive Rockets games and feel qualified to say that I cannot recall the last time "Cat" hit a game winning shot. He may be the greatest off guard in Rockets history but he NEVER hits the game winner. Eddie Griffin in his short career already has more game winners than "Cat". Moochie, Francis and others have done it........but not Mobley. He is a scoring machine who sucks in the clutch. That is unfortunately the plain and clear truth. It would also be nice if he would refrain from screaming "G Damn" everytime he misses a layup. It is bush league and shows no class!!! Just imagine if Dr. J, Magic or Michael Jordan did that every time they missed a shot. I like him as a player but he is immature and that shows at crunch time.

Cat takes a terrible shot at the end of the game again.

He has hit a few "game clinchers", but never any game winners where the Rockets are guaranteed to lose if they miss a shot. He did make the game-winning layup versus New York last year, and he tied the game against Indiana in the second OT last year as well. Apart from those shots, Mobley has been pathetic in the clutch.

I hear Cuttino butters the wrong side of his bread.

    Outlaw,
You are correct that he hit that game winner years ago and he did make a layup last year vs. N.Y. but other than that he has hit no game winners and he takes 90% of the final shots. I know that 90% is an exaggeration however he takes more than his fair share and rarely makes them. Nobody will ever confuse him for Mad Max!!!

I know some of you don't like Cuttino Mobley, but calling him classless makes no sense whatsoever. As for Griffin having more game winning shots, that is ridiculous, and it's just a case of some of you looking for every little thing to nitpick about the guy, especially after he had a big game and you can't find something to complain about him now. Francis has as many game winning shots as Mobley. To sit here and judge a guy on how many game winning shots you remember him making just tells me you guys are digging for something to pound on him for. He hit a game winning shot against Golden State, he hit a game winning shot against New York. What do you want, for him to hit a game winner every game or something? Francis has one game winner that I remember, that isn't a knock on him at all. It just tells me you can't sit here and judge a guy on how many game winning shots he makes. I mean really how many game winning shots do you remember Ray Allen making? Jason Kidd? You act like game winning shots are the easiest thing in the world to accomplish. Those are tough shots, that's why you rarely see them.

Rockets should put themselves in better positions so they aren't forced to hit "game winners."

If you want to get mad, get mad about their lack of defense in the 2nd quarter. Don't get mad cause the leading scorer and the career high-in-points person can't hit a game winner which typically is a low percentage situation anyway.

Good point. And although Cat did shoot lights out last nite, he is also part of the problem on D with regard to getting back on transition and closing out on shooters in the halfcourt set. If this team played any D they would have won at least 20 games by now.

I am one of Cat's harshest critics, but in NO way was last nights loss attributable to him or Francis, they carried this team and played their hearts out.

Cat scored 41 points, and played decent defense.

This was a team loss, no one getting back on defense killed the Rockets last night.

I must also say that I really enjoy watching New Jersey and Sacremento play basketball, the way they get everyone involved is exactly the type of team that the Rockets need to become to win consistently.

At least he hit a game tying shot tonight versus Charlotte. He actually admits to learning from choking versus New York(sic?) earlier this year.

I hate negative posts. I'm starting to see what people mean when they say things about the Rockets Board.

Yep, lots and lots of stupid stupid posts. His first ever NBA game...DUUUHHHH! . You people are tryin to agravate me. Cat has also had a few more game winners, breakers, and tie...uhhh ers. This is his 4th year now and he still is getting uncalled for criticism. Yes I know, I know he will make some boneheaded plays and take less than the highest percentage of shots, but do you realize why he has had to do this sometimes, and more importantly how good a player he really is? Has the investment of our 41st pick a few years ago and then that sweetheart of a deal the rox got been a complete waste? Would you prefer Dickerson right now(no offense intended he's a pretty good player)? Morons! I look forward to the day when Mobley is considered our 4th or 5th best player but in my opinion his clutchness is definitely confirmed.

I like the fact that after all his misses he is still not afraid to take the game winner. He can be 3-17 and still take the last shot with no hesitation.

Do you care about the Rockets winning? If so, then you wouldn't want him to have the "balls" to take the last shot. Especially if it's going to be a 30 ft jumper, when he's having a 3 for 17 shooting night.

Congrats to Cat on the game tying shot (not winning), however he still hoists up unadvised shots (fadeaways being covered) with usually too much time left at the ends of games. If you read my post than you will understand that I am a fan of Mobley and call him the greatest Rocket off guard ever. I am not blind though and still would rather see someone other than him take the last shot 90% of the time. I am sorry but 3-17 does not excite me on game winning shots!!!
