gosh we have so many homer fans that overvalue our own players......38 votes for hall of fame? Are you kidding me....

Is aaron brooks=kevin johnson at the end of his career? Gerald Green=Dominique Wilkins?

pfft...landry will be productive starter for most of his career but most likely if he leaves he will end up a back up to someone better..

Another thing about Carl is that his knee has not only held up,but recovered over a period of time. The longer the knee is OK the greater the chance it isn't an issue down the road.If team's knew he would be playing like this and healthy at this point his draft position would be very high.Much of the unknowns and doubts are brushed away.Again,he led the Big 10 and carried Purdue in the Tourney all at way less than 100%.He has the pedigree and class to go with the desire. This is usually a recipe for a star in the NBA.

T-Mac and Yao aren't near HOF and Carl Landry is nowhere near Yao or T-Mac.

I love Landry and his energy and shot, he can finish in this league like a solid starter, in the best way with few All-Star appareances.

I agree. Right now, Landry is a poor man's shawn kemp in his prime. Kemp was maybe a bit more athletic. Landry has the potential.

Wow! I thought I liked Landry too much but some people are loosing their minds here. To truly be a superstar you need to have some type of physical advantage. At 6-8, he's athletic for a pf but not for someone his height. He is a great hustle player but because he doesn't have the handles and athletecism to take 4s off the dribble, people will always be able to put big 4s on him.

Also, although he's a rookie he isn't incredibly young.

I think he'll be a solid starter but not a star.

On a side note, am I the only one that notices that Amare is a big SF. He has no back to the basket game, a terrible post defender, not really a good rebounder with their fast pace, and scores only on dribble drives, jump shots, and dunks. He is Josh Howard with extra muscle and height.

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/shawn_kemp/career_stats.html

So many of us still have nightmares about this guy and that whole Seattle team terrorizing the Rockets.Kemp would rip rebounds out of guy's hands the same way Carl does and he also would go straight up throwing down on ANYONE.Shawn could drain the 15 -18 footer too.But we also can't forget he had a little help from a fella named Gary Payton.

Landry reminds me of Oakley/HOrace Grant type of players who are great rebounder/tough defender with a midrange J.

I would be very happy if landry can be as good as Horace Grant was in his prime.

    OK,let's settle this over a game of hold'em...... ;)

Like I said, what they have in common is the desire and work ethic to be the best they can be.

That's going a little too far.

    Kenyon Martin:

Pseudo-thug - so you're hard because you have tats and scream when you dunk?
Average rebounder at best - he only averaged over 9 rbg in his contract year.
Good post defender in the eastern conference. That's right, he was supposed to be a good defender until he was exposed by Duncan in the finals.
He ended up overrated and overpaid because he played with Jason Kidd.

Landry could, however, be a rich man's Kenyon Martin.

    Vin Baker, in his prime.

I'm not talking about passion and desire, but skillset.

    Pass the pipe...

Rich man Kenny Thomas is best case scenario. David West? Landry will never make the All star team.
