not just winning w/o Yao, but blowing out the competition. there's a long way to go yet, but the team, and adleman have stepped up- this team can go a long way.

there doing it. if they win the next two and there winning streak is at 16.

they will be going into dallas. if they somehow manage to win that game (if all this happens the game will be HUGE) the rockets may just be onto something.

Good free agents??? Care to name one who would be better for our rotation than plugging Landry or Hayes in. This si laughable with 20 games left in the season someone thinks Morey isn't doing his job because he isn't signing a good free agent. Come on man there is no one available. I hope you were joking.

Lets wait until Sunday when we play a hungry team like Denver.
    Everyone can handle the Grizz.

Who are these good free agents you speak of?

The "kids" are on their own...for better or worse.

not every team has lowry/critteron to beat our guards and penetrate. overall, we still held the grizz to 36% shooting. deke didn't play the whole game u know.

our ability to switch on any player with the small lineup allows us to match up v. any team.

Scola will be the key to how far this team can go this season. We need a go-to guy in the post and Scola, despite of being a rookie, can be that guy for us.

And Deke is playing out of his mind again. We need to resign him. No other reserve center in the league can play as well as Deke does after not playing for so long.

I'd like to see us get some insurance...particularly a guy around 7' for the playoffs. We could use some more size against certain front lines.

Back to the OP's point, I this team is playing much harder w/out Yao. It's obvious why they think that, and it's paying off in spades. I can't imagine this team playing w/ that much intensity out of the gate against weaker opponents like the Wiz and Grizz if Yao were still playing. It looks like these guys are in good position to peak around the playoffs (hopefully not too soon).

They should be able to make the playoffs, but considering Yao's injury, sunday's game against the nuggets is the biggest game of the season so far.

BTW, the "Fractured Year" headline on the front page needs to be changed. There's still hope to be had.

Point take, but we still need some size.Deke can play so much at 41.I mean when we get to elite teams this will be a problem.

the only team that has a great big man in the west is duncan. i think deke will play more when we play him, along with hayes.

amare is not really much of a post player so landry/scola can match up with him just fine.

u don't just get a 7-footer out there and he'll do something. u think magloire will suddenly alter shots???

when we start playing the spurs or teams with great post up big men, we might have to resort to more double-teaming without deke and depend on our rotation.

I think the Rockets at least proved they can beat crappy teams (and crappy teams each missing two of their best players at that). Given the schedule, if they continue to take care of business against remainign crappy teams (and maybe win a couple games agaisnt good ones), they have a good chance to make playoffs.

The rox are too small when deke goes out and when shane/tracy goes out. I was wondering why they can't get that chris alexander kid from nbdl. If lowry and crittendon can get to the rack and finish, then it doesn't look good.

I said 2 months ago pj brown should have been on this roster and most people poo pood it. PJ would really be helpful right now.

but if we make tha playoffs, we possibly have to worry about tha likes of either Park, CP23, or DWilliams, who all get to tha paint at will.

    Tha perimeter is an issue.

What about that one big guy that played for tha Knicks and Raptors not too long ago.

    His last name was Davis.

I think he also might've played for tha Pacers early in his career.

Agreed 100%. We do need more size on this team. However, with 24 games to go there isn't much time to incorporate someone fully into the system. As for what is available, give me 2 ft. stilts & I'll be our big man underneath. Yao & Deke are the only Rockets that weigh more than me anyway.

I like what I see in this team. We are not only beating the teams we should beat, but we're routing them in most cases. We're begining to get a killer instinct about us. The last 20 games should be interesting & fun.
