It´s quite difficult for us to get PHX, based on their actual record they are quite paired with us in both win and loss columns, right now we will be playing the Spurs, we can play NOH if we get the 7th seed, but that might also be Dallas. Being 5th seed will almost secure that we will play Utah.
To be honest, I am still struggling on whether we should just tank or push. To me, first or second round exit means nothing to me. A good lottery indeed can help us a lot in the long run.

Not necessarily. We have to pass two teams to get to the 5th seed. That can also include Phoenix instead of New Orleans or Dallas.
utah does sound winnable... and since we get used to playing without yao for few more months, that loss we had to them without yao, doesn't matter.

I love my Rockets. but based on my opinion i feel like champion will rise from the East. After the west gets done beating the heck out of eachother in the remainder of the season and the post season the west will be beaten up and worn out. Then the well rested weakstern will take the finals!
We should try, after over a decade of not winning a playoff series it would be really special. Plus if we didnt make the playoff we would probably get one of the last lottery picks anyways.
