Second, there is the center who stepped in. Hakeem Olajuwon still has some juice left and the Raptors insist they really got him for the playoffs, anyway, but this is a man whose ego is every bit as big as his coach's. He will not long be content to play 26 minutes a game or get only 7.5 shots a game. Hakeem is healthy and figures that a primary role in the offense is his due. That was the problem in Houston where the Rockets sought to place him on the back burner. It worked only so long as Hakeem was hobbled. If this continues, he will start complaining and he won't mince words.

This came from ESPN! So when will Olajuwon start complaining???

You know he'll start crying again!! It's just a matter of time. Damn, the man really thinks he's one of the top centers in the league still!!!!!

I watched the first quarter of the Raptors- Knicks hoping I would see something special from Hakeem like a jump hook....but he was flat out awful..

First two shots were blocked by Camby, third was an airball, fourth was a missed 2 foot hook, and his fifth was blocked. He is soooo slow these days.

Give it up Dream, I don't like seeing this.

LOL. No one bashes David Robinson's trashy play.

What you guys don't realize is Hakeem always shows up when it counts, right now, the Raptors can make due because they have Antonio Davis and Keon Clark. But come playoff time, Hakeem won't be on the bench in the 4th, he'll be the second scoring otion, after Vince.

If Raptors play bad during the regular season, that first round pick they gave up could be a top 20 pick:D :D :D :D :D :D...Come on Hakeem stick it to Raptors in the regular season...start the moping...Ruin team chemistry...get hurt...do any sabatoge you can...

I hope they are the 8th seed of the east so that we could have pick #14

There is nothing at stake now so I do not see why Dream needs to be a world beater and screw around and get injured. They need him when it counts. Whatever problems that team is having, it is not the dream. I think the blame that the coach is taking is probably justified. However, they are still poise to be a force in the east.

Yeah, that's what he did to the Rockets last year. He really ruined the team last year. The Rockets are sooo much better this year without him.

I have a strange feeling that we will still be talking about stuff like this 5 years from now and beyond.

It's fun for a while, but then it becomes like an old toy & you get bored with it.

Hakeem supporters, have you actually seen him play this year? I live in Toronto and have gone to several games this year, and although I was excited to get The Dream at the beginning, myself (and I think the Toronto Fans in general) are getting fed up with his low energy approach to games.

Hearing how Hakeem will turn it on during the end of the season and during the playoffs is getting old - what about battling for home court advantage, so they have a better chance during hte playoffs. He is weak, getting rebounds stripped from him on the defensive end, and not even trying for them on the offensive end. I won't even comment on his offence (last nights game says it all). He is causing major problems for Toronto because of the respect he deserves (demands) for his past performances, because his play this year should be earning him a spot on the bench. Keon Clark deserves the starting nod, and deserves to be playing starting minutes but doesn't. For those of you who think Houston would be better off with Hakeem still here your absolutely wrong - he would be a distraction to everybody (Rudy and the real upcoming stars on the Rockets).

Did I say anything about last year. I thought Hakeem was good after Rudy gave Hakeem the respect he deserved last year but Lenny is doing the same thing....

Good...You guys deserve it by taking our star player away and offering him this wonderful contract. I hope you guys are the last seed in the playoffs so we can get a great player with that 1st round pick...Vince Carter, Keon Clark and most of all your stupid GM deserve the low energy you get because HAKEEM IS GREAT and BROUGHT HOUSTON 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS....

why is it getting old.. Toughtown?
You(Toronto) haven't really seen the playoffs with Hakeem. He is Clutch. He is old and not the same player he once was.. but its only eight months since we all saw what he is still capable of. Have patience... Dream will play a prominant role in Toronto's progress in this year playoffs.
I strongly believe.. Toronto's front office knew they weren't going after a high energy hustle player , while they were pursuing Dream. They got him in for a specific purpose and it's still on..
Let's conclude only towards the end of season.

You know, I kind of like talking about Olajuwon! It just proves that he's not the player he thinks he is! I'm glad the Rockets didn't give in to his demands!!! Because he sure does'nt deserve that much money playing like that!! Although Cato does'nt either!

I cannot see how the Raptors can be complaining. Last year they did not get to the finals because of the absence of a person like the Dream. They could not have brought him in to carry the team to the playoffs. His days for that kind of thing is over even if he could do it. He has to be the final piece when it counts. Looking at the statistics he is the 2nd best rebounder, good low post defender and good shooting percentage, while he is not motivated and simply trying to get to the playoffs healthy. We have seen what can happen when he is motivated like against the Spurs earlier this season.

I do not expect him to complain because he understands the situation. The Dream is not the problem in Toronto.

Man, some people here are a little bit sour that the Rockets absolutely suck ass compared to the Raptors this year.

The plain truth is that the Rocks will be in the lottery for another year and the Raptors will have a chance to win a championship. Alvin Williams, Chris Childs, Antonio Davis and Dream are all huge playoff performers. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out of the east.

And where will we be? Lottery Land. We wouldn't even be a playoff team in the east so quit hating.

You sound like the pathetic Blazer fans who diss the Lakers whenever Kobe has a bad game.
