Crash, I agree with what you say. Duhon is a stud, I watched him in the McDonalds game and he really impressed me. However, I dont think we need another point guard, at least right now. I think it would be better for us to look at either Chris Borchardt from Stanford or Dunleavy. The two spots we're really lacking at are C and Sf. Maybe we could get another point guard to replace Moochie over the summer through a trade or what not.

I watch every UT game that I can. Living in Austin, I see a lot. I can tell all of y'all that TJ Ford is an amazing player.

He does lead the nation in assists with more distance between 1st and 2nd than 2nd and 3rd. Earlier in the season, he had a 3 apg advantage over all other players.

He's also a good rebounder for a guard. He is the fourth leading rebounder on UT behind James Thomas, Chris Owens, and Brandon Mouton. He also has 2 steals per game. Believe me, every Texas player has defensive skills. If you don't, you don't play.

He is averaging 9.3 points per game on .427 shooting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's good for non-post player. Admittedly, his three point percentage is abyssmal and his free throw shooting needs to be improved.

Overall, he's a solid player and is only a freshman. There is a strong possibility that he will grow a couple more inches before entering the draft. However, as we have seen with players like Spud Webb and Mugsy Bogues, short people can play and stick in the league for a long time. TJ Ford is 5'10" without shoes.

I truly don't understand the comment about being a Jason Kidd type player; therefore, he cannot play in the NBA. If Kidd-type players could not play in the NBA, Jason Kidd would not be getting attention for MVP.

Is he better than Duhon? No idea. I'm not one of those people who are going to offer an opinion on everything I don't know about. I don't pay attention to Duke. What's the point? It's like rooting for Uconn or Tennessee in women's basketball.

Misleading stat of the year. To his credit, TJ gets to the rack very well. But, he doesn't shoot anywhere near as close as .427 on jumpers that are 10ft to 3 pters.

TJ, like Francis, needs to shoot more. He's actually a decent defender. Very quick on the perimeter and very quick hands. He rebounds well for a guy under 6-foot.

I'd bet alot of money he'll be a 1st round pick and play in the nba. He's good.

I don't know about Duhon vs Ford. I do know that Ford was the best pure point guard in the mcdonald's game, and that includes Wagner.

I agree we should take Duhon (or Williams), but only because we can trade him.

LA Clippers have 3 superstar forwards (Odom, Miles, Brand) and they have big need in a good PG. With Duhon (or Williams), they will be soon pretenders to championship.

I think we don't need another young player, who will be real good in 2-3 years. We need more experienced player, who can give big impact on a game.

...and so I want to see Miles or Odom in Rockets' jersey.

t.j. is nowhere near duhon's class... duhon, on the ut roster would be averaging 20 to 25 points a game and dishing out 7 or 8 assist. no comparison in my opinion, let alove T.J, miniscule size would leave any nba team prone to matchup problems

I hope the rest of the NBA teams think like ya'll that Duhon is a lotto. For us that would be like being able to pick 1 slot higher, unfortunately the pro scouts don't have Dukie vision. The guy has about the worst shooting percentage on the whole darned roster and manages less than 10 points per game despite leading the team in minutes and being THE GUY to leave open. I don't care what he did in the McDonald's All America game as a pup the guy shows little sign of being a pro player, let alone a pro starter. Mateen Cleaves can barely make an NBA roster for Pete's sake and he was twice as tough and twice as effective.

Most of ya'll Dukie fans probably don't even know which state Duke University is in. ;)

BTW-JW is a total stud (the best college player for 2 years running, no doubt he will make a fine pro) and Boozer and Dunleavy do pro potential but I doubt either of the latter players will be starting caliber NBA guys.

    N4,

He's messing with you. I've always been for the trade Cato and Rice for the NUgs 1st rd, Lafrentz , and Macdyess deal.

Cato's been playing well lately. Maybe we can sub Langhi or a 2006 2nd rounder instead?

LOL! See, now you guys are at least entertaining!

Joe Joe, I was just curious that how, in a thread with no messages in it, that's about PG's in the draft, someone could just say "We should get McDyess". Just confused me a little.

i bet you guys are all wondering why it took so long for me to reply to this. well first, my nugget internet radar (program that lets me know each time the words 'nuggets' or 'mcdyess' or whatever i add to my personal list are posted on message boards, that i add in my preference section, cc.net included of course!...quite a handy dandy program if you ask me)...anyways, it for some reason, didnt catch this...i think it has to do with the thread topic title...im not sure.

but thanks to n4, i saw it and now im replying. but now ive forgotten whats the point and what im saying or what to do now.

    oh yeah, go rockets...
