I never knew Tim Thomas of the Milwaukee Bucks was Eddie's cousin...

    Eddie Griffin

    Highlights with Andy Katz

He didn't lead all freshmen, and at times, the nation in blocked shots and rebounding without reason. Griffin is the real deal athletically, even if his attitude has been called in question. He might not have the strength yet to compete in the league but he's got the timing and the art of defense and rebounding down at a much earlier age than most small forwards.

Early entry candidate for the 2001 NBA Draft

Honorable Mention All-America by Associated Press in 2001

Freshman of the Year by the USBWA and The Sporting News

First Seton Hall player to be named Big East Rookie of the Year. Also named to All-Big East second team

Nation's leading shot blocker (4.5 per game) and fifth-leading rebounder (10.8)

Led Seton Hall in scoring with 17.8 points per game

Set Seton Hall single-season record for blocked shots with 133

Scouting Report: An incredible interior presence ... Regarded as the best player of his freshman class ... Considered jumping to the NBA directly out of high school ... Can do it all, score, rebound and block shots ... Tremendous athlete, able to penetrate deep into the lane off the far perimeter with his handle and quickness ... Owns enough footspeed to maneuver around the basket for clean shots ... Excellent outside shooter at 6-9 ... Former McDonald's All-American ... From the "Did You Know" file: Cousin of NBA star Tim Thomas.

how come all the articles about eddie that were written before he was in the NBA said he had temper control problems...he doesn't seem like he would ever hit a teammate like he did at Seton Hall...

I've got a good semi-paparazzi pic of Eddie smiling from the pre-season ticket promotions, but I don't have anywhere to post it.
