Rowdie, there are like 18 other threads filled with negative crap (a lot of it's yours). Take Clutch's advice and at least leave one thread unpolluted.

What the hell are we going to do? Give up? Hell no! You think Tracy McGrady, or Bobby Jackson, or Mutumbo don't have something to play for? Don't look back! A lot of good people die before a war is won. Keep fighting!

Hey,I'm a Rocket fan through thick and thin, but I also believe THIS season's NOT over for us by any stretch of the imagination. There's still plenty of room for optimism with the talent and coach we have.

There is a point in believing and then there is pure fantasy land. Anyone who thinks this team, minus Yao, has a shot at making any noise in the playoffs, if they even get there, is living in fantasy land. This is not anywhere near the same type of team that contended and won championships in the 90's. Simply put, without Yao (or anyone) to spread the floor, this team is not that good. We could possibly survive in the East, but there is no way in hell we're getting out of the first round in the West.

Tonight will show little of what the Rockets are made of. We won't get a true glimpse of that until we start playing teams in our conference that are in the running for playoff spots.

This first game may be the toughest. It will be the easiest one for some of the players to lose focus, just because they can't help but think about Yao, not seeing him on the court all game long.

I think the saving grace and maybe best reason for hope is the attitude of both Scola and Landry. I don't expect them to play with any less enthusiasm. Oh, and I think Deke can provide some inspiration, too, depending on whether he can pick up from last season. His effort, at his age, is inspiring under any circumstance.

And not that the players need any motivation, but a viewing of "Knute Rockne: All American", might serve the team well, whenever they get enough time between games... Nothing like a deep-seated, gut-level purpose to help concentration and effort.

Let's go guys! "Win one for the Minger" ;)

(For those who may not be familiar with the above mentioned movie, the original line is: "Win one for the Gipper" -- Google it.)

    Stay optimistic

    Stay optimistic

Seriously I dont know how any of you could call yourselves Rockets fans, Yao gets injured and the end of the world has come, Yao is a great player, yes I said it, GREAT!

But you should still beileve in the Rockets, I am seeing threads everywhere saying the Rockets might not even make the playoffs, if we do we are gonna get sweeped and all this bullcrap.

Just show your support and stop jumping to conclusions, when Yao was injured last year Tracy took us to a 20-12 record, thats about .600 ball, we are now more talented and we have the same Deke of last year who can still get a couple of blocks here and there, a couple of points and numerous rebounds

Dont forget we are also on fire, a 13 game winning streak and have a favorable schedule, even thought it might get a little difficult in March, but I beileve the Rockets can maintain their composure.

So, all of you, even if Yao is injured, go to games and support like you've never supported before, because the Rockets need it right now.

    Damn right.

Listen, my heart and spirit were crushed this afternoon when I heard about Yao's season ending injury. I cried inside and cursed the Basketball Gods for damning us during this spectacular run of 12 freaking wins. My job performance sucked and I hated anyone that spoke a word to me. All I could think of was Yao telling his teammates that he was kaput for the season. Flashes of Yao being his witty self during interviews reeled through my mind. The dunk on KG crossed my mind, the dominant game against the NO Hornets almost brought me to tears. Yao's statement that the team's goal was to achieve a perfect February further darkened my mental state.

Tonight's lopsided victory against the admittedly depleted Wizards calmed my urge to denounce this team to playoff misery.

**** that, this team is way to stacked to lose like chumps in the playoffs.

We will win and we will use Yao in a dress shirt and jacket as inspiration to elevate us above anyone that dares stands in our way!

We can still believe that this team can hold his own despite the loss of Yao on the team. I never seen the Rockets this deep since the 93-94 team. I believe we can still beat any of the top five teams on this league.

It is sad to see Yao gone for the season..but this team is deep...and i have faith we can get into the playoffs.

If you look at it perhaps now we can see a little more of Adelman’s offence with more cuts to the baskets as our paint will not be clogged, the center at the high elbow passing...hummm just maybe..... GO RoX!!!

I'm optimistic about getting into the playoffs. I'm not optimistic about beating any of the top 5 teams in the league.

I want Rox to play Utah in the playoffs! BTW, as of right now Houston is actually 1 game better than Utah. Yet Utah is seeded higher because they're winning the division. That's BS to me.

we went 20-12 without yao last yr with LESSER talent.

now we have MORE talent, and people are giving up.

once u get into the playoffs, anything can happen.

adelman, tmac, morey, and the team still believe so why not the fans?

    1) again, people don't understand how well we can match up with every team now that yao is out defensively. PGs cannot roam like crazy v. us anymore b/c we can switch up on anything. and deke will give us 12-15 mins of energetic play.

    2) the PF position is now a STRENGTH, not a weakness.
    3) PG position is now at least stable, and won't be a failure like last yr
    4) we have FINISHERS around the rim for tmac when he creates
    5) we have a guy named tracy who has risen to the occasion last yr and carried this team. he's happy. he's confident. he'll deliver.

once u get into the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen.

the Rockets will go 4-1 in their next five and will be the 4th best team in the West with the 5th seed by Saturday March 8th...

their streak will reach 16 and they will lose to Dallas on the 6th, but will bounce back and beat the Hornets, who will lose to the Suns, Jazz, and Wizards. they will go 3-4 in their next seven

The Mavericks will lose to the Spurs, Lakers and Jazz to go 3-3 in their next 6

    the Jazz will go 4-3

this is how its going to go down

    (5)Houston 41-21
    (6)Dallas 41-22
    (7)New Orleans 40-22
    (4)Utah 40-24

    I Believe

Deke will grab the final rebound as time expires in game 7 of the first round and fall to the ground clutching the ball just like he did for Denver against Seattle in 1994 (oh yeah we'll be leading at the time so obviously we advance to the second round).

    I believe!!
