I have a couple older, random Rockets-related videos I'd like to post on Youtube, but I can't because they are .RM files.

I've googled this and can not find an answer that works for me. I see a bunch of random software sites, but don't want to touch any of them.

Anyone have any experience with this on what can do the trick? Thanks ...

Look for SUPERĀ© from eright software (erightsoft). It can convert MANY formats to many other formats. I use it to convert anything into my iPod videos.

I use WinAVI. It's pretty good, but it's not supposed to be free.

Thanks for the suggestion ... unfortunately I've tried in Firefox and IE to get that software downloaded from their website and it's near impossible on my computer. That intentionally send you in loops ... kind of a mess.

Clutch, you mind sending me one of the videos? I have a few different applications that may be able to convert to any number of file formats.

You're supposed to click the "Download now" link, then when you get to the end, read the "please wait 10 seconds" message at the bottom... then it will work. I think it's only IE6 and IE7 that take it (i tried with FireFox and it won't).

If it doesn't work, check your email tonight, then. I have a copy of it from a while back.

Clutch, I can help you convert the videos on my Linux PC at home if you email them to me.

I use AVS Video Converter (www.avs4you.com) to convert .flv files from Youtube. I usually only change it to .mpg, .wmv or .avi; but I see nine (9) formats including Shockwave flash, DVD, MP4, 3GP et al. But it's $69 and I can't really vouch for the quality versus the other software mentioned here.

I don't get why they throw in loops but SUPER is a great all encompassing encoding program.

If you have a Mac, CosmoPod works well. I've used it to convert .rm's to .mp4's
