I agree.....unfortunately some of us still "believe" we're in in 1994 instead of 2008..........I believe when someone gives me a reason to believe....I ain't believing ish right now, but another dissapointing season.
When Amare was out, Suns still made to WC final. We would kill to make the WC final even with Yao's healthy. 4 words. Bobby Jackson bad karma. J/K
You are more than welcome to jump back on if (when) we group together as a team and play well. Remember, this isn't last years squad, and even they went 21-12 with Yao out. And that was with Rafer being the only other player besides Tmac that could create his own shot. Juwan and Chuck were our PF's. Luther was our backup PG. We are so much more talented this year AND we are playing in an improved offensive system and still playing killer D. I know it's a long shot, but I really think that we can still compete in the West and perhaps advance out of round one if guys like Scola, Landry and Jackson step up and play within the system.
This is heartbreaking, but tonight will show alot about what the Rockets are made of. No doubt, Yao will be missed. But, we are a different team this year. I think the energy we have seen this year from players like Scola and Landry will make all the difference. It is time for the cliched, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Now it is time for the Rockets to prove they are tough.
We can make huge noise. Unlike last year, our team has smarts and talent coming from a lot of places, and Adelman will not be afraid to use it. Remember his Kings team. It'll be tough without Yao, but we can do it. All of our guys are capable of running fast and strong and aggressively. We're extremely smart, we have good character, and guys like Landry and Chuck Hayes aren't going to give up for a second. Let's hope.
it's hard too when there's 10 of them clogging up the 1st page, lol....I'm sorry, but this blind optimism is just that....blind optimism........how about some threads on what we should plan on doing as far as free agency, trades, lineups, etc. instead of "it's tmac's time", "we believe", "the rockets won't let us down", "go team go, ra, ra, ra"....all it is a lot of hot air without any kind of logical substance behind it...........my realism about this team seems negative, because this team brings a lot of negativity along with them whether it be injuries, giving up, choking, not having killer instinct, dumb decisions, etc......
Well put. These aren't the Rockets of a couple of years ago (David Wesley, Ryan Bowen, Clarence Weatherspoon). While we don't have a guy who can replace Yao's presence, we definitely have a few that can step in and give the other trouble. If nothing else, we have a hell of a lot of passionate competitors that bring it every single night (Scola, Landry, Hayes, Battier, Mutombo, Jackson, Alston at least). I don't want to underestimate how far that can take them. I will believe until they are mathematically eliminated.
Question...if the rockets management said they would not trade tmac, but would freely look for offers for yao, Would you trade yao or would you keep him on the team?
These players and Adelman's system can get it done!!! Remember, the battle of San Jacinto happened in Harris County and a vastly outnumbered Texas force won the day on April 21, 1836. This April that will be just about the time the playoffs begin for OUR HOUSTON ROCKETS! WE BELIEVE! MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN! GO DEKE!
trade him..............I'd rather see Tmac go, but if the management wanted to keep him instead of Yao for some reason, I'd be all for it.........they've had their time...............
The door is open for a star to be born. Who will it be? Can someone kick it to the next level and save the season?
we will make the playoffs and upset whoever we play! they will die by the hand of scolandry! WIN FOR YAO!
