Around the Horn - Bill Plaschke - Doesn't change anything in the west. Rockets were never elite to begin with. Wouldn't of made the conference finals. Same picture as before. If you asked 4 or 5 top GM's none would be worried about Rockets before Yao's injury. Woody Paige - Sad thing for Rockets. Finally considered being elite and now this. What about Yao's legacy? Can't be a good big man if you are always getting injured. Worried about Yao's chances of playing in Bejing. Mariotti - Disagress with Plaschke. Same thing as Woody Blackistone - Could fall out of playoffs. Sad thing for the fans. "What have they done to deserve this." Plaschke is a Lakers homer and a Rockets hater, no doubt. I am fully aware this show/entire TV station is a joke but this really pisses me off. These people don't know anything. It doesn't change anything? I bet if some role player like Odom or Barbosa or Dampier goes down, he'd be saying the opposite. And Yao is our freaking franchise player.
I don't like plasche but the rockets have to prove that they are an elite team when it matters. We've seen this team make runs with yao and tmac but they have to do it when it matters. does anyone remember when jim rome used to play this tape of plasche at a tour stop in greenbay talking about them taking shots of ranch dressing
PTI- Wilbon - It's over. We were the hottest team. Yao is one of the great stories in the NBA. Don't see how we will make the playoffs. 7-6 is freakish body. Only thick guys will get through all the pounding and keeps their legs from injury. (Shaq, Wilt). Sad Story, Wilbon is depressed.
I have to agree with Plaschke somewhat, although I don't like Around The Horn.....you have to earn your stripes in the NBA, and sadly this team hasn't done anything when it counts to make other teams fear them......
every single person on around the horn is a tool and the jerry seinfeld guy with the remotes is a douche. i cant believe anyone watches that show... it's like watching rome. you'll never hear a good new piece of sports information if you watched for 10 years PTI, that's a good show
yeah I definitely prefer PTI > Around The Horn, but Plaschke or whatever his name is did make somewhat of a good point.......
Stephen A Smith says the Rockets are done, not a playoff team, without Yao. He says Tracy would and should be the reason if we make it, and it looks bleak with Golden State and Denver looming, it doesn't look good. Yao wants to play in Beijing, so he is pushing for that. Stephen A Smith says we should be concerned about his durability because he's 7'5" and awkward. We have the same concerns about Tracy. Stephen A Smith has no questions about Tracy's heart and commitment. He thinks Tracy has heart and commitment. Interesting. That was typed as he talked, so it sucks. And you don't refer to Stephen A Smith without saying his entire name, or calling him "the most obnoxious man in the world."
I remember Stephen A.'s Interview w/TMac last season. He would say TMac has heart, just because of the "it's on me" comments.
I love Stephen A., but I have to disagree with him on this one.......I think he allows his personal relationships with these guys to distort his opinions.....
