With the recent injury to Yao as painful as it might be the rockets organization has to answer some really difficult questions. What do we do now. Vote for one AND explain why
sign Justin Williams this season, make our run and hope for a insane McGrady don't trade Yao or Tracy in the off season-- do everything to be healthy next season and make another run.
I think Rockets should go small, up tempo, high motion offense very preferd since Yao's out for the year. Ala Suns, Warriors, Rockets should go up tempo as I said, with shooters around, and just hope for the best.
for all the people voting to give them another shot next season, I'd like to know the reason why you'd think next year will be any different from seasons in the past???
This sounds great in theory, but you can't expect a team that has been playing a certain way to have a couple practices, come out and suddenly look the the GS Warriors. Just won't happen.
we will get zero value for T-mac, an injury prone guy making 20 million a year past his prime will do that. We will get some value for Yao based on marketability alone, New York would give a lot except they have bad players that we dont want. Right now, I dont know, injuries suck.
I think you have to trade at least one of them. You can't continue to have 3/5 of you're cap locked up on two players that are this injury prone.
once again can the people voting that we should "give them another shot" show their faces and explain why????
^You have to do whatever gives your team the best possible chance to win a championship. That means you have to take risks. It's better to have top-quality players who might get injured than players who aren't good enough even if they are healthy.
^^^is it really?.....even when they are healthy there are still many question marks next to both men, and that's considering the fact that they can in fact "be healthy"....
Because there is no better option? How did Orlando do when THEY traded McGrady? You think he'd fetch a better price now, by chance? Hell no. Yao hasn't played a full season in three years, I'm not so sure teams are going to be lining up to trade us their Josh Howards for him. Making a trade could send us right back to the lotto, and franchise players don't come around every year. How many lotto picks have the Bobcats had now? So, why not just roll the dice on McYao one more time. We're rolling the dice no matter what we do anyway. Maybe our best hope is that both just happen to be healthy going into the playoffs and we hit a hot streak. Does that give us the best chance of success? Jesus, who knows! I'm sure Morey is listening to any and all offers and if one comes along that could improve the Rockets, I'm sure he'll try to do it. But as for saying "We MUST keep Tracy and Yao!" or "we MUST make a trade," well c'mon, neither option is terribly attractive. Incidentally, I didn't vote in your little poll. I haven't made up my mind yet.
