Would you continue to build chemistry or play young guys

  1. Yes - stick with the core group and roll the dice

Yao is out, and the truth is that it probably ruins our championship hopes for this year.

So, with that in mind, would you want the team to start playing the young guys now, and just live with the results?

    or

Play the same players and try to win as much as possible and build the chemistry for next year when Yao gets back?

Normally, I am a pragmatist, and want what is best for the franchise not matter what that is......which means I favor tanking......but, not with this team....

I want them to stay together, rally, play their veterans continue to build chemistry, and maybe sprinkle in a young player or two at the end of the season if we don't make the playoffs.

So, you vote....and tell us why....

Playoffs, or development of young players.....

uum... easy. First round and out. The difference between getting a low lottery pick and pick around 20 is minimal. Its not like were going to get any stars in the draft anyways.

    Playoffs.

Call me crazy, but even in this loaded West, I really think that we can win some big games with Scola and Landry taking on bigger roles.

We have a great supporting cast and TMac needs to keep driving to the hoop.

10 games from now I might be singing a different tune...but for now I believe

tank....tank like you've never done before....what's the point of making the post season not being apart of the lottery just to get bounced in the 1st round???.....I'm a true fan that wants this team to "win".........

I don't expect Tmac to even finish this season out. I anticipate a "shut it down" press conference from him sometime down the road. Therefore I say go into tank-mode starting tonite.

Sorry, but you never ever give up on a good season because one player is injured and out. You keep playing, teammates have to step up and win games. Its game time, and the rockets have to keep rolling.

I chose to play the young guys not because Rox needs high lottery pick, instead to develop their young inexperienced rookies into a much more solid player for the next year championship run.

Oh, I am right there with ya Deuce....if we are dropping like a lead balloon, I will be all over a better draft pick.

However I think we can make the playoffs, and the experience will be good for some of our younger players.

Too early to call! Wait and see how the next 4 games are going! If the rockets still can win all of them, history will be made, and I believe they can go deep in playoff.

Anyways I don't like the question because making the playoffs does not mean we're going to get eliminated in the first round. NOBODY is really standing out in the west and with yao we were possibly on our way to a first seed. Obviously now that is out of the question, but I think with the emergence of landry and scola, and a increased role for those two they can deliver. Last year when yao was out and tmac led the team and i think we had one of the best stretches of the season, so i don't think all is lost.

But with 36 wins, they probably won't have the chance for a "HIGH" lottery pick.

Sorry, but with all the crappy teams in the league, it's too late to tank. The few places we'd move up in the draft wouldn't be worth the loss of pride. Plus, this isn't really a team built for tanking, unless you just want to tell all the veterans to just sit out the rest of the season. Plus, we're already playing the young guys, because they help us win.

We're not the Spurs (we don't tank for a potential to land Beasley, which would be deserving from the basketball Gods), we play with who we have and let the chips fall where they may.

Deke and Chuck as the starting and back up centers. We've won with Chucky Brown at foward.

Who knows, maybe Adelman can brew up something great with the speed we can have without Yao. Hell screw all this pessimism, let's get to the second round for once.

Can't you just see the "Is the team better off without Yao" threads popping up if that happens?

Ugh, I rue the day !!
