Seriously. No other player puts their Olympic performance over their professional duty to their NBA team. NBA players sit out the Olympics to rest for the upcoming season, not vice versa.

What do YOU care about more?

    The Olympics or the Rockets?

I hate having him have to play year round and unfortunately this contributes to his problems because he can never rest. He has to be a propaganda piece for the Chinese government, instead of being an NBA player.

Yao is a great person that has to deal with a lot of undue pressure, and i want what is best for him, He has a better shot of winning an NBA title than he does a gold medal.

What do you care about again.

Yeah,me too. The navicular bone is large and the danger of a non-healing fracture would have meant the end of his career. Luckily it is not that and it has been discovered early. That implies he will be able to play, but there is no doubt that he will be out for a very long time. I'm afraid if he is forced to play in the Olympics it could result in the end of his career as a Houston Rocket.

Look, it doesn't matter what we care about. Yao will make the decision. And I'm pretty sure playing for his country, in an Olympics hosted by his country, and playing in front of his country probably means a lot to him. Can't say I blame him. Any other Olympics and I'm sure there would be more leeway to decide whether to sit it out or not.

Looks like the Doc is recommending a foot transplant. Not good news at all.

Just answering your original question. Yao is from China, the Summer Olympics are in his country for the first time ever and, if he plays, the CNT will have their strongest team ever.

I've been a Rockets fan 25+ years and don't care much about the Olympics.

    What?!

I couldn't watch the press conference at work, but did the doc really say that? That sounds bad.
