The Rockets have been playing spectacularly as of late and without particularly exceptional play from Yao.

... I don't think they'll have a shot at the title this year, but they'll still be a formidable team for anyone in the NBA.

 

This is just awful. I literally lost the breath from my lungs when i saw the headline at the chronicle's website. ugh.

how many more shots at the title does this mcgrady/yao experiment have? they were rolling...they were consistently improving.

it is absolutely THAT big of a deal. teams will play the rockets very differently without yao there.

 

I don't know if Deke can still play anymore, but maybe he can still log some minutes and give The People's Elbow to level out the playing field...

Now it's time for character check. Now it's time to see what we are made of. We can win it, man. We can win without Yao with EVERYBODY stepping up. Adelman's offense doesn't require a dominant low post center.

i almost wrecked on my way home, when i saw this on my phone, this is heartbreakin, i wanted to cry.

you can remain optimistic, but come on I didn't think this team would get out of the 1st round WITH Yao........they MIGHT make the playoffs, because of their easy schedule, but for what????.....they'll definitely get bounced in the 1st round.........I bet my life on it.
