I rather Yao or Tmac rest now and then risking any injury against the wizards or the mephis. wiz played a big game against the hornets and won, and second back to back, doubt they have any enegery left with arena and bulter out of lineup.
The biggest problem that I always feared with a guy of Yao's size is problems with his feet. It plagued Rik Smits throughout his career, and robbed him of some prime years. Hopefully, that's not what's going on here. The fact that there was no one isolated incident that caused this is WORRISOME.
Wang Meng reported right after the Bulls game that Yao was going to sit out the the next (or two) game(s) to rest his ankle and check it up. So, no surprise here. I dont think it's anything serious.
good. i hope yao sits out the memphis game too. no reason to push him too hard before our killer march schedule.
Maybe you'll see the new guys rise up and play a game for the ages, one remembered for years. Be optimistic! Heck, some of the members that live in Houston should be giving you tickets. If anyone deserves to be at the games, it is you!
I hope we don't see much Deke tonight. I mean, I love the guy (which is amazing since I used to HATE the guy back when talked non-stop trash about Hakeem) but he is useless as a player now. Really just a good veteran presence and teacher. Scola needs to start at center and Landry and Chuck can pick up the minutes at PF and backup C. We need these guys to ALL step up in this game.
Just great another freakin injury bug for us! i'm beganning to worry now despite some weak opponent coming up. How severe is this injury? How many game will he miss? Well, there goes our winning streak and the push to stay alive in the playoff(2 game out). I'm sad...
I think there's a distinction that needs to be made. Is it his foot or his ankle? If it's his ankle, it's fine, because we know he tweaked it, so it may be sore. But if it's his foot, that could be something totally different and worrisome. BTW, when Yao was walking off the court on Sunday, he was clearly walking gingerly and limping a bit.
The last time we lost this season was aginst the Jazz in which Yao missed. The wizards played last night so hopefully they will be tired.
"The Rockets Director of Media Relations, Nelson Luis, told reporters after practice that Yao has been examined by team physician Dr. Tom Clanton and the club is awaiting the results. Luis said there has been no one incident that caused this problem. He said Yao's foot has been sore in recent days and the club has been treating it." So, is our director of media relations lying? Or is the one guy who's paid to be informed, and inform the press about the state of the team, un-imformed?
