Phislammajamma: First you say "we can and will," yet then you tell us that "anything is possible." Which statement would you like us to believe? They're mutually exclusive :p

Personally, I think such a situation is unlikely... but, "anything is possible" until mathematically otherwise [IMG].

My condolences, Mulder. That would be an X-File.

We can pass Utah if we convince Karl that every game is an All-Star game, and that he should stay at home and heal up his so-called injuries!

    Utah is at 29-19
    Minnesota 27-22
    Seattle 32-20
    Houston 21-30

around 32 games left apiece. We need at least 6 more wins than Min. and 8 more than Utah, while winning most of the other games also. If that happens, I will be more suprised than John Stocton was when he walked in on Karl Malone and Jeff Hornecek.

We are not going to make the playoffs. I think it is an unrealistic goal. Without all the injuries we have sustained, maybe it would have been possible. But we can just play out the regular season and leave it all out on the court. Pick up a nice draft pick or two, use the trade exception money we have to get a solid free agent, and then let's talk playoffs.

Can we wrestle the last playoff spot from Utah?

I know that they are #7 right now, but I think they will be #8 real soon...

They have been doing horrible as of late. The Jazz just seem to be tired, something like 3-7 over their last ten games.

So do you guys think we can steal the last spot away from the Utah Jazz?

We can and will. Anything is possible. One of the lower playoff seeds will come back to the pack. They always do. Seattle, Minnesota, or Utah will fall apart and be forced to hold onto the last playoff spot. It always happens. It's up to the Rockets to go after them and take it. It can be done.

Let Utah have the 8 spot, play the 1 seed, lose in 3 and STILL not get a lottery pick.

The best part is the Rockets will be on their way back while Utah is on their way down. When is Utah going to rebuild? I'm so glad Karl Malone has kept himself in great shape. They look like an 8 seed for years to come. [IMG]
