Yao looks like he is in some degree of pain.

Ultrasound machine for muscular treatment it appears...

Sends "sound waves" or a light "shock" through the muscles and nerves to relieve tension and pain.

They were probably checking for nerve or tendon/ligament damage (with the MRI on Monday) as a precaution since it's been 20+ days and he seems to still have some twinge of pain in the ankle.

Pretty standard procedure for a team I'd say... to check on it thoroughly, that is.

He looked more like bored than in pain, but the bottomline is he's not in the best mood.

Sit him a couple of games. At least put him on bench and use him based on the situation. Forget the winning streak for a while. This team should have matured to the point they can take care of the business without him for a short period of time. BTW we do have a bit cushion right now as Nuggets and falling fast.

If Yao does sit out for extended time, I see

1)BrooksBall in his playoff no way thread repeating "I told you, fool"
    and
2)Some vet poster registered prior to 2002 posting a thread titiled "Yao's injury is a blessing in disguise" with a 4 star rating.

It's the shock and awe strategy.

+1 on it being an ultrasound...

I heard about this from my friend in the Rockets organization after Sunday's game. He said they think Yao might have to miss one or two games.

    Yao sucks anyways. ;)

Start Scola and Landry and we'll walk away from them..........then everybody will be screaming to trade Yao for Artest and Kenny Thomas.

If he doesn't play tonight or any time soon, then it's no big deal. Other players will take care of it. If they could win without T-Mac, they could certainly win without Yao. Have faith, fellow clutchfans!!

Not to be negative and I hope yao gets better, but the rox have shown they can win without Yao. I still would like to see magloire on this team to cut yao minutes down. Don't know if its the injury or what, but yao's rebounds and shot blocking down over the last month. The rox have been winning though.

Why?Yao is being more important player than Tmac this season.
    Rockets lost Jazz without Yao
    Rockets won warriors without Tmac

I think Yao has been trying to stay out of foul trouble and he has been less aggressive going after blocks....He picks his spots when to go for the block, but most of the time he just puts both hands straight up and contests the shot which is still pretty effective....

    Can't argue with the results.

That's a combo muscle stim and ultrasound machine.

yeah, the rox are too good right now. they need magloire to balance the wins and losses more evenly.

I'm not talking about who's more important. I'm saying that the team CAN do it without one of the main pieces, whether it is Yao or T-Mac. We have Battier, Scola and Landry along with others to step it up. Hell, Deke probably still have some gas left in his tank ;)

You guys saying "Ban this guy" need to look at his history, he has been accurate on all his posts.

    Let's see what happens.

If he has to sit, it is not the end of the world.....better to sit out games we can win without him than the ones we can't.

I'm just saying that Yao has been logging a lot of minutes and the rox get really small when he goes out. I think magloire to just play 12 to 15mins a night to drop his minutes. That alone can say games of yao legs. Just a thought.

I dont think anything serious with Yao's ankle. Taking MRI is a precautionary measure. Yao practised yesterday and I guess he's going to play tonite. Relax guys!!!
