id pass... he's kinda similar to bonzi..strong, can post up, but his jumper is just as or prolly is far worse then bonzi's..
THANK YOU FOR CHIMING IN WITH THIS POINT!!! Charles Barkley was right when he said that he's not a role model. But kids want a player's jersey because they see what a player does on the court or field, not because they know much (if anything) about the player's actions outside of a game. When I made my stepson throw away his Michael Vick jersey, it was because of his (1) involvement in the much publicized dog fighting/gambling ring, (2) the further lack of character that he showed in lying about his actions, (3) his general failure to accept responsibility for his actions until he had no choice but to do so, and (4) the drug use that resulted in a longer prison sentence. Michael Vick killed dogs. Ruben Patterson forced his daughter's nanny to perform oral sex on him. So I don't want my stepson ever asking for a Ruben Patterson jersey just because he went off for 50 points, 20 rebounds, 15 assists, 12 steals and 2 blocks after a trade to the Rockets.
Every year Patterson gets cut by someone and we get the obligatory "What do you guys think of Ruben Patterson thread." Funny the posts are always the same as well, ie the Rox don't need sex offenders and knuckleheads. He can't seem to stick anywhere for very long, even the lowly Clippers and Bucks didn't want him so the guy has to have issues.
Cheap alright! But he is not the same as he was. Also bad publicity for picking up a child molestor. he needs to register on every city he goes. I'll pass!!
I think Charles Barkley has made some mistakes, but I think he is a great guy with a good heart.... And I love my Vernon Maxwell jersey!
That does suck about Calvin Murphy...but he isn't exactly a model citizen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_Murphy#Personal_life "Murphy was married to Vernetta Murphy, with whom he had two daughters and a son. In total, he has 14 illegitimate children by 9 women. In 2004, Murphy was tried for sexual abuse of 5 of his illegitimate children. When defending Murphy his lawyers argued that Murphy had been the long time director of Houston’s Marching Thunder Drill Team (a band and baton twirling group.) They pointed out that nobody outside of Murphy's extended family accused him of anything and insinuated that the allegations stemmed from a desire to get money from Murphy.[6] It took the jury less than two hours to acquit Murphy of all charges. Shortly after the verdict was announced, the Houston Rockets ended their 35 year relationship with Murphy."
