Both scola and landry have been playing great on both end of the floor. Both are very energetic. I had to add chuck in there with the poll since it wouldn't be fair otherwise. Scola i think is more skilled, but also both are hustle type players, landry is probably the most energetic player right now in our team.
I think a lot of people will say landry, but I don't think andy one on this team has as many post moves as scola.
scola is the most complete, so i have a hard time picking anyone over him. landry shows so much promise though that if i picked playing time, i'd probably split it between the two just to give carl the chance i believe he needs to become truly dominant. as much as i love chuck hayes, he has become almost obsolete. sad for him personally, but the nba requires shooting and it was only a matter of time before the rockets found SOMEBODY who could give us a portion of his interior work and at least the minimum accepted amount of offense.
His footwork in the post is better than yao, and he is a lot faster. Yao obviously is the better shooter and is 7-6 so he can get his shot off on anyone, but yao does not have the post moves that scola has. His spins, pumb fakes, and pivots are all very good.
+1. Scola is like a fine tuned machine. He has the most skilled offensively out of them all and is ready to step up big time. Definitely the most skilled on the post and his jumper isn't that bad either. Landry is an athletic young PF who is only going to get better. He hustle all over the place and gets to the open spot a lot and unlike Chuck Hayes - actually finishes his shots around the basket. He's good at where he's at. Come in for instant offense and energy. He also has a pretty good jumper but we don't know how consist he can be with that shot. Hayes - hustle and defend. Best defender out of the three and should be use according to who we play. So I voted for Scola.
Scola is the best at putting the ball on the floor, and he's the only one with a developed post up game. A more savvy defender than Landry. Landry is a superior rebounder and finisher. He's a little quicker to the loose balls than Scola. Struggles defending in the post. Chuck's the best and most versatile defender of the three, and he's a solid rebounder. But he can't be relied on to score the ball, which automatically relegates him to third option behind the others. I'll say Scola is the best for now, but Landry could easily pull ahead by season's end.
Scola is better overall b/c of experience and highly polished moves. But I'd still stick with Landry in most 4th quarter situations, just b/c of his ability to attack the rim and get to the line, make his FT's, or when he just flat out posterizes people; you can't beat that.
Scola. He's a starter because he can stretch the opposing defense out ever so much, to help Yao. That's the main reason, his post play is the bonus.
Against good power forwards, it's: 1. Chuck, 2. Scola, 3. Landry Against average or worse PF's, it's: 1. Scola, 2. Landry, 3. Chuck
Do you really think Landry is versatile enough on offense to get better than Scola? His finishing is clearly superior but Scola's ability to create gives him a clear edge IMO. In the playoffs when things tighten up, that could give him a big edge on Landry and the minutes between them might become lopsided. Scola also has a certain savvy on the court that Landry lacks for now.
