    My father was on a magazine cover right after Sputnik went up. It was one of those sensational mags that tried to sell copies by printing breathless stories, no matter how mundane the subject. My Dad had built equipment at his university that picked up the "beep-beep" put out by Sputnik. It was portrayed as Sam Spade in a lab coat. Dad never wore a lab coat in his life!

    I haven't been, but have been in an annual report...My first job out of college...They were highlighting this new business unit we were working in...I look like a dork, but I have about 10 copies at home...:)
