Chicago completely blew it. Why would anyone swap an All-star caliber player for their players at this point? All their young guys have regressed this year.

THEORETICALLY what do you guys think if we could get deng and gordon for tmac? would you do it?

those guys know how to share and arent ball stoppers like tmac which is particularly bad in the adelman offense

Neither of those players have McGrady's ability to create shots for teammates. If we do that trade, then we need a quality PG as well.

Well technically if you always shoot it within 0.5 seconds of touching the ball then you're not really "stopping" the ball so to say :p

    Lost me there. :p
Bulls have nothing of value IMO. Hinrich is overrated and would still give us the weakest PG of any contender in the West. Deng is a 3rd option on a good team and his sealing is overrated IMO. Bulls just don't have the personnel to land McGrady. I would rather take a chance on Brand or bring in Redd if a deal had to come.

The asking price has not changed. Deng/Gordon, Henrich, Thomas, and Noci for Tmac + filler.

I wish writers would get their facts straight. I agree with the gist of the article, that TMac is trade bait if we flame out again; I'd say he's trade bait even if we advance to the 2nd round. (But not if we make it to at least the WC Finals.) When the guy lists the wrong age for TMac, it throws everything else into question.

But Chicago has the pieces to pull off a TMac trade this summer (especially with Nocioni and Hinrich losing BYC status and Ben Gordon ready to jump ship), if they want to consider the next two years as a window for winning. And to be honest, as well as TMac has played since the All Star break, he's just one "rather-be-in-my-pool-at-home" moment away from all of us screaming to dump him.

There would be nobody I would want from Chicago in exchange for McGrady. Deng is their best player and he's just as injury prone as Mac is.

The only guy I want on the Chicago team is Nocioni " The dirtiest player in the NBA" Put him with Scola and that would be interesting lol

Individually, nobody on that team comes close to Tmac's talent's level. But there are signs that Tmac is slowing down. Our starting and backup PG are way 30 year old too. If we can get a young border-line star winger, a atheletic PF and a good PG in return, I am all for it. The master plan is to build around Yao and get younger starting next year, imagine a line-up with

    Henrich/Brooks
    Gorden/Head
    Battier/Landry
    Scolar/Thomas
    Yao

and with Green, Novak, in the developement

That is something RA can work with

it's commentary on local news reporters trying to inject non-stories into the mainstream media...

it's also common knowledge that Golden State wanted Yao

Chicago should have traded for Kobe when they had the chance. Now they are stuck with what they have for a while.

Wouldn't be easier to upgrade the pg or sf as opposed to trying to upgrade the best player on ur team? Go get andre igoudala after the season since we would now have 11m in expiring contracts next summer.

the rockets have enough ending contracts next year to gasol a guy like mike miller, mike redd, vince carter, or ron artest...

why not (barring another failed post season) move tmac and rafer for a couple of solid parts starting with hinrich and thier choice of gordon or nocioni?
