If Brent Barry signed with Spurs, would he not be allowed to play in the playoffs? Since it will be sure after march 1st?

I agree with Magliore. He would be nice addition although there been rumors floating that he might sign with Dallas.

There are rumors that Seattle will waive Francisco Elson. If so, he would be an excellent backup center because of his agility, size and speed -- a great complement to Yao's game. He would not be particularly expensive, unlike the slower Magloire.

No, a player can't be waived after March 1st and then be picked up by another team for the playoffs. Barry has already been waived, so he can sign with any team up until April 25, I believe.

I read on ESPN truehoops that Brent can play for SA in the playoffs, as durvasa noted.

I think Brent is obviously our first choice (or at least mine). After that, I wonder if there is a Brent-lite we could get for the playoffs or if we should go backup PF/C. I'm worried that all of our PFs have shown that they can get in foul trouble at times. I love Deke but I don't know if he can bring anything to the playoffs for us.

People like Mike Harris. I could see that. Could he contribute a little this season if needed?

That would be nice if we can't shore up the backup SG/SF position.

Sam Cassell. I know our PG situation is technically "resolved" with Bobby Jackson, but wouldn't you want to have Cassell's mid-range game over Bobby's slowed-by-father-time penetration abilities? Shooters are at a premium after all, if we can't get Barry I say Cassell is the best option to be our back-up SG as well as starting PG.

Sorry 'bout that, don't know why I said Yao. Mutombo is who I meant.

Dude, Calderon would def. be our starter, as well as Rafer's been playing lately, he still has nothing on Calderon.

Magloire gives us a great 4/5 enforcer with size and TALENT.....I realize we need athleticism at SF and could use another shooter like Barry.

And he's nothing like Yao was when he was younger. This is a different kind of player.Magloire is a real presence on the glass and will give you good interior defense. He will definitely help when we play team's like the Lakers.

Any of the above would be helpful. Obviously Barry would be the best fit to our needs, but if Sam gets bought out... we'd be fools not to make a run at him for at least the balance of the year... talk about a 3rd scoring option!

Lmao. You can't be serious there Yaozer.

Calderon is a future All-Star for sure. He'd supplant Rafer the minute he signs here.
