I would rather give Farmer from our D League team a ten day try out. He is scoring 32 pts a game from his last 4 games and is shooting the lights out from the three point line.In this way we might get a player with loyalty and someone who might stick with us for many seasons and he won't be too expensive!!
If free agent dealings was a batting average most GMs would be hitting below .150. So many variables go into getting players to make decisions in your favor...Morey's approach sure beats staying put or just sending a phone call. If Morey is sloppy with his approach or comes across like a douchebag thats one thing, but nothing indicates he's messing anything up.
A team can't have enough good shooters. especially in the playoffs where you have to take advantage of the other teams weaknesses whenever possible. We need his shooting to keep it opened up for Yao. I say do what we need to do to sign him. Calling all Chinese shoe companies for help!!!
Anyone know how come we can't watch games on channelsurfing.net anymore?? I want to watch the SA vs. NO game...
Did Bonzi's Anta contract have a "Yao Ming" clause? Maybe they now have an available contract to give.
Keep in mind that the Rockets have one open roster Spot!! Not that it mattered, Green, Novak, etc. would be cut in a hearbeat if they were taking up a roster spot if Barry where willing to sign. Moot point. Good thing about Barry is that he is a tall guard. He's 6'7" or 6'6". He can play point guard. He shoots the 3 at a very high percentage. He would help out the Rockets immensely. It has been proven night in and night out that 3 point shooters can flourish in the Rocket system. They just need consistency. Battier would get 5 to 10 3 point shots a game if he just shot them. But, he is such a reluctant shooter. Alston McGrady Battier Scola Yao Jackson Barry Landy Head Brooks Hayes Novak IR: Francis Green Mutumbo Come on Barry sign. The Rockets are a deep deep team!!! Poised for another Championship.
if we get him, were gonna win the champioship. i think we'll win without him but with him its a guarantee.
Well, I bet you there was someone in L.A. saying if they got Gasol they would win a championship as well. Same for Utah, Phoenix, Cleveland, Dallas, etc!!! But, one thing is for sure, Barry improves the Rockets by a lot! When the Rockets shoot the 3 point well, they are virtually unstoppable. McGrady seems to be back to his old ways. Yao is simply dominating at the center position. The NBA particualry the West is so tough. Phoenix L.A. Lakers, Dallas, S.A. Spurs, Utah, N.O. Hornets, Detroit, Boston They all have championship calibur built Rosters. Not to mention Denver, Warriors, Cleveland, Bulls, There will be blood sweat and tears on the NBA Playoff floor after the battles!! Championship will only be won playing not talkin'.
He is great in a motion system, he moves well with and without the ball. He would be great here, but if your family is in San Antonio, why not just wait it out? I just think his game is suited the best for Phoenix.... DD
Plus Phoenix has ZERO bench outside of Barbosa. They could really use him. I don't think he'll be signing back with SA considering how many teams are courting him right now. They wouldn't be wasting their time if his agent hadn't indicated he could be had.
DD, I have NO DOUBT that Barry and his agent read this BBS. If we don't get him it will be YOUR FAULT!!!
Aside from his vision, shooting and experience which are all great the best thing is the guy is a winner. I hope we get him.
All the teams interested have no games today. Surely they've either made their calls or flown in for a meet like Morey/Adelman. He must have a good idea by now... http://news.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/celtics/?p=208&srvc=home&position=recent GSW and Nuggets have also been reported as suitors.
This might be a stupid question (and maybe one that someone already asked, but one of the two years includes this year, right? ... So he'd be another expiring contract next season?
Yep. Yet another expiring contract to add together with Jackson's and Francis's in order to make a potentially major move this summer or come next February.
