I hate to say this, but I think the only reason the Rockets won the game was b/c some Hornets scrub sneak inside the middle of the Rocket's pre-game ritual dance. Thats bad luck for the Hornets.

    ESPN's Hollinger Power Rankings

Seriously, who updates the fans' quotes? The quotes and rankings are updated daily.

There are ridiculous quotes for the Rockets on Hollinger's rankings like that all the time.

I don't really hate him, but I was just kind of irritated that he gets all mad about getting a little elbow, that wasn't even near his head. Its the NBA, its supposed to be a man's league. A lot of players have just gotten soft over the years sadly. I remember Dream would get real elbows and knees to his body from Malone and Barkley in the old days, and never got mad over it. He would just let the refs know to watch out for it. I mean, if it was some scrub that did this, then I would maybe expect that, but of all the All Stars chosen this year, David West is by far the softest, considering he plays power forward, and is just a product of Chris Paul, who can't do anything else but shoot a 15-20ft jumper.

Thats all I have against the guy...I basically just lost a little respect for him after the cheap shots he took last night against the Rockets, against real power forwards who play the game the way its supposed to be played.

I bet Scola must really think the NBA is soft now compared to Argentinian or European basketball...

Keeping your hands up at all times is a staple of the JVG defensive philosophy. I am glad they apply those fundamentals. Fundamentals are boring, but they help you win games.

I have a question I didn't want to start a new thread for:

How do you defend a perfectly timed alley-oop against a guy who can really get up there? Is there even any way to defend it? Chris Paul and Chandler did it like 5 times and it looked unstoppable. Is the only way to not even let Chandler get into a position where he can go for it? Because it sure looked like once he was taking off, there was no way to defend it anymore.

    Thanks for educating me.

I'm no expert, but I guess you either have to crowd the passer and make it a difficult lob, or you don't allow any separation between yourself and the dunker. Yao has problems getting back to his man on PnR, so he's particularly vulnerable to the alley-oop. I suppose we could send another defender down to stick to Chandler or whoever, but then you risk leaving a 3-point shooter open.

I think the key to that is stopping Chris Paul's penetration. Not an easy task by any means.

LOL@ when bullard called ryan bowen a scoring machine, damn i was laughing.....bullard is 100X better than drexler..

It was this woman on 610 radio that told bullard to help out drexler on his commentating, because he's terrible and the radio host from 610 sounded aggravated but its true

Unless it were D. Howard. Yao can't defend it. But not as much as 5 times, he only got single digit.

ithe more I think about it, the worse the bonzi trade seems. with the chemistry we had, it's terrible.

It seems Jackson was really important to the Hornets.

Now, the spurs are abusing the hornets.

BTW, Bonzi and James are playing ok. James even made a 3.

I missed the game, just learned the score today. To be honest, I was shocked. I simply didn't expect the Rockets to beat the Hornets on the road in a back to back situation, much less by 20 pts. One game a season does not make, but, this is a statement to league. The team is for real. I am still angry about the trades, but if the remaining players can step up and Yao and TMac keep their heads in the games, this could get interesting. I still say both James and Bonzi were valuable playoff pieces, and they were dumped for financial reasons to a division rival. Still stupid, but this win was encouraging.
