Instead of reveling in the current winning streak, the team has to continue to play like they're out of the playoffs. Everyone has to continue to hustle and play their hearts out. We are not out of the clear by any means. Looking at our schedule in March, the fight for the playoffs has just begun. These next three games are must-wins for us to have a little breathing room going into next month. The way we're playing now, the only thing that can stop us is if the guys lose that edge. I hope this doesn't happen.

Even though they have 11 in a row and have gotten better, you never know what might happen once they get in trouble. The next game against the Bulls could be a difficult one.

Acutally I am not too worried about that because of the earlier struggles. losing to bad teams made us humble, I think. Also when the momentum and confidence on your side, you dont tone them down. Right now is like the golden age in the Civ4 game, if you know what I am talking about.

We're playing well, but I can think of several things other than complacency...

    San Antonio
    Dallas
    Phoenix
    Los Angeles
    Utah
    Boston
    Detroit

keeping 10+ win streak is difficult, it's a long season, and a team cant go high every night, so I wouldnt be surprised if we lose in the next a few games.

What's encouraging is our defense carried us in this stretch. Offense will have off nights, but good defensive team is always good defensive team on any given night.

More than complacency, I'm afraid of peaking too soon. There's still a lot of games left in the season, and the Rockets need to pace themselves so that they don't burn out.

Adelman's doing a great job so far but he needs to continue to figure out how to keep winning and especially keep McGrady and Yao fresh and healthy so that they hit their highest level come postseason and not earlier. For various reasons we haven't been able to do this in previous years, but I think we may have a balanced enough team to pull it off this year or atleast come close.

Yeah, but the only problem with resting starters is the fact that the West is so strong now that you are forced to win every winnable game to even make the playoffs. So, I don't think many teams in the West can or will be as fresh going into the postseason. But, I think simply playing the style of basketball that we're playing gives our two stars more gas for a strong playoff push.

We have the perfect weapon against complacency, and that is..."PHILADELPHIA!"

Peaking too soon? Maybe. But we need to make the playoff first, and we need every win to do that. Feeling we are peaking too soon is a sign of complacency from fans.

The number one seed is up for grabs. Let's ride this hot streak for as long as it lasts.

Ha - we still haven't proven jack folks. NO isn't a contender. Let's wait and see how we handle Phoenix, LA, and Boston. Not to mention Utah and the Spurs.

These teams are on fire and may give us fits. I'm going to wait before i comment on what can stop us.

There's 7 teams that can stop us, and one that matches up with us really well:

    1. LA Lakers.
    2. Phoenix Suns
    3. Detroit Pistons
    4. Utah Jazz
    5. Boston Celtics
    6. Dallas
    7. SA
    8. Golden State.

Notice New Orleans isn't on that list - and only Golden State from our 11 game winning streak.

    We've proven nothing yet.

I agree. And I'm not saying rest the starters but rather not ride them too hard just for the sake of a few more wins. I mean, I LOVED how intense McGrady was against the Hornets, but obviously, we don't want him to be this way for 40+ minutes every regular-season game.

It's a balance between short-term needs and long-term goals. And I think Adelman and Morey's showing that they're quite adept at striking this balance so far.

Rockets will not prove anything until they win a Championship....., even then, there is still next season....... need to start proving again.

I think the Rockets could only get complacent if they got a comfortable lead atop the Western Conference Standings. For the rest of this season, it really isn't likely that any team in the Western Conference will get too comfortable of a lead for the best record.

Just think, if not for how tight the Western Conference Standings are from 1-9, Kobe Bryant might be more willing to have surgery on his pinky finger and just get it healed up for the playoffs if making the playoffs was a sure thing for the Lakers. Because of how so tight the standings are from 1-9, Kobe sees sitting out for six weeks being too risky of a thing because it might mean the Lakers missing the playoffs.

Now that the Portland Trailblazers have fallen down to four and one-half games out for the 8th spot, and seem to be fading, it is now pretty much a battle royal of nine teams all in a fight just to make the playoffs with one of them to miss the playoffs altogether at season's end.

It's sickening seeing so many posts about fans being insecure about the Rockets in these forums. I for one am totally confident in our team, and I believe we can beat any team in the NBA right now. Call me crazy but after seeing my favorite team beat the team with the second best record in the NBA and extend their streak to 11, I truly believe in the Rockets!

You do know that from your list, the Rockets have beaten.

    Phoenix at Phoenix
    LA at LA
    Utah at Utah
    SA - 2 times

The only team they have failed to beat is Boston, and the Rockets almost beat them and they were missing some key players.

You are missing the coming together of a GREAT team..

The point is that we don't NEED Tmac to play like this every night anymore.

This is finally a "TEAM" playing as a team.

If one or sometimes 2 of our superstars struggle the role players are involved enough to carry the day.

This is the best Rockets team I have seen since the championship years.....they are more fun to watch than any other Rockets team other than those 2....

I love TEAM ball....everyone involved, everyone an option, impossible for team's to shut down,,,,and suffocating defense.

    HOORAY !!
