Good point. But, aren't you going little too far calling Landry's defense "not good at all"? He's not exactly Steve Novak in the post..

Never seen T-mac give Rashard a shoulder to the chest off the ball, or push him to the floor though..

Nothing wrong with being a fan of a player. I like Chuck a lot but I want the Rockets to be the best they can be. Landry and Scola have brought us up a notch at PF. They will be even better next season. Now we need an above-average starting PG to push Rafer to the bench where he belongs. We all know he won't continue this level of play indefinitely.

Scola was not as effective as Landry in this game. He couldn't guard West.

i think the difference maker that's given the rockets and contributed the most to the winning streak is carl landry's contribution tot he team. We never had a strong tough PF who could finish the easy buckets and therefore play great team basketball. With hayes or even bonzi in the team..we couldn't play great team basketball..because it was basically 4 on 5 in terms of offensive threat. i mean hayes and bonzi missed so many easy layups because they weren't strong enough or skilled enough to dunk or make the layups. Now..i've seen the game against the heat highlights and Landry is dunking amazingly and most of his easy buckets so this is a confidence booster for the team and does the opposite to the opponents.

Yea, Scola and Landry couldn't defense at all. That's why we held most team under 90 the last 11 games.

He's an above average defender...always gets his hands up and in the face of the defender...and he seems to always find the rebound. Sometimes you don't need a Dwight Howard or Amare Stoudemire "skillset" to make an imprint in this game. Hell you don't even have to be 6ft tall to make an imprint in this game. Just need Heart.

Chuck's the best defender out of the three, despite his height. Unfortunately, despite all of his hustle, he gives up rebounding to the others and is the worst scorer. Scola is our best scoring option, but he always overplays...that can be good, but I think it costs us more than it helps. Landry is inexperienced, but has the most potential, showing promise offensively, defensively (he's tough, reasonably smart, and will learn in time), and on the boards.

I think Chuck will be useful playoff time when we need to guard tough opponents.

cuz of all the bull**** fouls on scola and the fact that NBA rules now evidently dictate that West is allowed to travel with the ball all over the court

I don't want to be too optimistic, especially after his missed layup, but the Chuck Wagon had a pretty good looking jump hook in garbage time. I don't doubt that he's been practicing his offense--maybe it'll pay off.

When I think of the Chuck/Juwan combo, Scola and Landry are even more impressive.

I'm not so sure Landry has more potential than Scola. Unless he's totally exhausted from the Olympics, I expect Scola to raise it up another level next season. Landry hasn't demonstrated the ability to (1) create his own shot, (2) score with his back to the basket or (3) finish tough without dunking. Scola can do all of these and will get better. Scola's instincts and craftiness on offense can't be taught. Landry will eventually demonstrate a more reliable jumper and could end up a better rebounder than Scola. He's also 3 years younger and probably has a longer career in front of him.

Both guys will get better and we have a lot to look forward to.

We personally think we have the most balanced starting lineup of any team.

    Yao dominates the paint.
Landry and Scola score in the paint and get rebounds/steals/blocks
Tracy scores from the perimeter or mid-range areas, or can drive well.
Rafer Alston creates plays and shoots the occasional three, or penetrates and scores/assists.

Think about this, our last 2 playoff series, we had Ryan Bowen and Chuck Hayes starting at PF.

no joke! getting away with a travel one - maybe twice - in a game is one thing, but i swear i saw west travel 5 or 6 times last night and not a single one of them was called.

it was a very poorly officiated game.

I still can't believe Hayes is blowing gimmie layups like that one last night. It's all in his head now, the blowing the layups and his FTs. It's just a big mental block for him.

If Landry ever get post moves like Scola has, watch out. That's prolly the only thing missing from his game, his D is fine btw, he just makes rookie mistakes, which he'll get better over time.

The thing I like about the PF rotation is that Scola and Landry wear the other teams out. Scola plays hard for most of the first quarter, with his aggressive defense, rebounding, and crazy spin move layups. Then Landry comes in and teams think they can relax, until Landry has three monster dunks in a row.

I also have loved what I've seen from Chuck lately. We've forgotten what a bulldog and pure defensive spark Chuck can be in limited minutes. During the Hornets game, he and Landry were just abusing people on the boards.

I'd really like to see Chuck do a lot of work on his game. I LOVE his defense and rebounding...Landry and Scola try, but they're not at Chuck's level in these two categories(Especially defense). However, Chuck needs to develop some sort of offensive game...There's no excuse for missing a point blank layup, which he does often. It'd be nice if he could develop a dependable 10-15 jumper as well.

I love him too. It'd be very very nice if he could develop a dependable 3-pt jumper as well.

LOL ... yeah, and if he could dunk from the free throw line that would just be icing on the cake!

Scola will get better for sure, he will rise both his FG%,his FT % and his defense.

Argentinean players have shown that they usually have a good steady first season but their real games are shown after the second one.

Just look at Oberto´s first season and see this year, OK he has less participation in the Spurs than Scola here, but anyway his game has steadily improved.
