Duh, right. But McCain IS running and his views on Iraq are at least as hawkish as Bush. The Iraq war is the biggest engine driving government spending that can be reduced in a hurry.
Your credibility would be higher if you just admit that you would never vote for Obama because he is not in favor of trying to "win" in Iraq even if it takes 100 years and that you support McCain on this. Surely there must be a favorable one or two articles out there somewhere that you have encountered in your allegedly neutral quest to get to know Obama. Funny you post nearly daily negative articles about Obama. Perhaps you can share some of the positive info you learn about him. BTW I am an Obama voter, but am still skeptical about him being much more than a younger Hillary, whose idealism is relatively unscarred by the whole Swiftboat treatment the Clintons have endured for years. However, it is perhaps this whole being less scarred thing that might make all the difference. Getting more hopeful about Obama even if he is called a (gulp!!) "tax and spend" liberal.
Very interesting article out by Politico.com discussing Michelle LaVaughn Robinson (Obama)'s senior thesis at Princeton. For some reason, this thesis is restricted from public viewing until November 5, 2008... Hmmm... The day after the election.... The title of the thesis, you might be wondering? "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community"... very interesting development By the way, what a middle name that is! LaVaughn. Right up there with Forbes and Hussein.
Okay, now you're not even trying to hide the racism. Can't you just put forth a tiny amount of effort to make it seem like you're not the biggest ******* in the world?
Oh, so any possibly negative mention of Obama or his family is racist? Nice. Good line of defense there.
While I don't agree with everything in the article this is something that I wonder about a lot. How is someone with such a liberal record and platform going to be the uniter he claims to be? Obama and his supporters always say he will focus on what divides us rather than what separates us but what should be obvious from these discussions is there is a lot that divides us and on many of the core issues of Obama's platform are among the most contentious.
I'm waiting for Mo Taylor to weigh in. Since Francis isn't playing anymore perhaps he can start a new career as political pundit.
Because Obama is left/centrist. Articles trying to paint him as the most liberal senator ignore his 1st two years and focus on last year, when he like every major pres candidate were campaigning a lot and only participating on a subset of votes (I think McCain has missed even more).
8 solid years of the peanut gallery, lead by basso, repeating the GWB "no-tax and spend" manifesto, defending wiretapping, waterboarding, and the imperial presidency....and you expect us to believe you asshats are now fiscal conservative, born again libertarians? Sorry....hold on... I'm going to have to call bullsh-t. No wait, not just bullsh-t, A giant industrial sized tank of bovine feces. No, sorry, not just a tank, just ... well, nothing. I can't think of a metaphor here that's appropriate SEE YOU BOYZ AT THE NEXT RON PAUL RALLY DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!!!!!!!!
Moochie will wait til the last possible moment to vote, then he will let the ballot slip out of his hands and land in someone else's voting booth. .
I move that we create an "Obama is a n-gger" thread and sticky it so that all that kind of stuff can be filtered out of the other thread, and TJ can post in it to his heart's content.
