From what I know there are wild dogs in Iran usually wondering the streets, don't get why this old man got arrested considering how dogs run around freely…………………………then I looked at the source, an Italian online news site that seems to be fixated on Iran, most the articles are about Iran/Islambad.
No matter how one may feel about a law, it's still something you have to follow. Getting jailed after breaking the law should be not be a big deal.
It's important to understand the source (thanks meh) but also what "dogs are impure" means: - You can't pray where they've walked. - Impure is reffering to the concept of "najis" in Islam which is not easy to understand. But it is a concept. As examples, dog saliva and human blood (except from the mouth) are "najis". It's also important to differentiate these things: - all dog owners and their dogs should be arrested: minority opinion, stupidity. - all dog owners should not walk their dog in public: law. - all dog owners can walk their dog on private property: law. - all iranians can have dogs: law. - all iranians have sufficient brain cells to accept the circumstances: law. This is not some poor unsuspecting guy. This is a repeat offender who symbolically proclaimed "***** the law". Now, I am Muslim. I have two dogs. Why? Because I am aware of how much freedom I have with my personal choices regarding this issue. That's why, if I was living in Iran, I wouldn't have a dog, and I certainly would'nt walk them in public.
