Maybe a misinterpretation from my end; but doesn't this sound like a bit that Wade calls Battier a dirty player? "Wade crashed into Shane Battier in the lane on a layup attempt with about three minutes left in the second quarter and came up from the collision limping on his surgically repaired left knee. Battier was called with the foul. He appeared OK after a time-out and made both free throws. The scare had to have been a bit of deja vu for Wade as it was the one-year anniversary of a collision in Houston with Battier that separated his left shoulder. Wade was taken off the court in a wheelchair in tears in that one and missed the rest of the season and the early part of this one. It was his first return to Houston since the injury. "I'm just thankful that I am not going to have to see him again this year,'' Wade said. "So hopefully I can stay healthy.'' http://www.nba.com/games/20080221/MIAHOU/recap.html Maybe Wade is just suprised that somebody plays hard D on him.... which many others don't do anymore since he seems to get every call.
All great defensive players are a little dirty, DWade is going to have a hard time staying healthy in the latter part of his career......
shane's mr nice guy...no way he would play dirty...wade probably means that battier is tenacious on defense and is hard to shake off...more praise to the defensive intensity of our team...

I don't think he is saying Battier is dirty - I think it was more of a joke...like in "being superstitious about playing against this guy and getting hurt".
The fact that Wade fouled Shane on that play might mean it's less of a dirty accusation but more of superstitious paranoia some athletes have...
I honestly can't help myself and laugh whenever I'm remind of Wade getting off the court on a wheelchair that day.
I assure you, even if Wade doesn't think he's dirty, he certainly doesn't like Battier. If you've ever played a sport you know the exact feeling. You might not hate a guy for injuring you, but you always do feel some resentment and ill-will toward them.
That was clearly a charge. Battier had established position and Wade ran into him. But Wade is Wade and the refs often give him the benefit of the doubt (that's why he has a ring).
Who cares what Wade says? Wade's an overrated whiney lil b*tch who throws tantrums literally everytime a call doesn't go his way - as if he's entitled to ref favoritism.
I don't think that is what he is saying, but the refs let that game get out of hand. Yao gets triple teamed on on end, goes to his left for the shot with his back to the basket, two defenders foul him on his arms, makes the shot, no call, runs down to the other end, sets his feet up in the low block, gets run over and gets called for the foul. He seriously needs to throw an elbow down on them at times to clear some space.
Unfortunately, With Wade's playing style, He is injury prone.I hope he will not suffer more injuries in his career.
