While Bonzi was great for us,this opens up the interior for Scola and Landry to show the library of moves they actually have while upping Landry's minutes. The Rockets were able to unload James and his deal that pays him until he is 43 giving us flexibility for adding another major piece too.Bobby Jackson should shoot at least 41 - 44 % from 3 here, gives us depth where we need it, and still can play defense.Besides he's an expiring. The guy has played for Adelman in the past and will continue to help the bridge to the new offense.(and from the most important position for this)
Now looking at Green..I don't see him as just a favor to Snyder. This is a very young, very talented player....superior athleticism which we need..He's been with two of the crappiest teams in the League.Right away he brings defense and again he can shoot..With this team he probably raises his 3 point percentage easily..And just as importantly he and Jackson just crank up that team defense. And Green's upside down the road is HUGE.

So feel good...we have plenty of talent and are poised for quite a run.

He has been shooting 38-39% in his last 3 seasons, that is horrible for a so called "shooter"....

He's still only 22 years old. The guy is younger than most rookies coming out of college, and already in his NBA career he has managed a season of double digit scoring with limited minutes. I think he's a great pickup.

Yeah, that is kind of how I see it. He is better than any pick we would get in the 2nd round anyway....

I just noticed that Gerald Green is an expiring contract. It's quite possible that he never even plays for us.

At the moment, I'm indifferent about this trade. As many people have said, if Green couldn't crack Minnesota's rotation, that's a problem. We did, however, get him for a more expensive non-rotation player. So at least we save some money

So I'm guessing the idea of trading Bonzi was to make space for Gerald Green, Morey better be 110% sure on this.

Don’t know much about Green except from those slam-dunk contests. But this trade does seem to tell us that the Rockets management is putting more hopes on the next 2-3 years than on this year.

the Rockets are weaker than they were before.

no reason to short term weaken your team if you're fully focused on immediate results.

if yah can, please try to respond on point without name calling. Thanks!

Green hasn't shown he can play, but neither has Snyder.

Green has shown he can shoot a jumper, though, at least. Snyder has a funky release.

The Rockets gave up a 2010 second round draft pick and cash to get him. I think at the very least they'll make him an offer for next season.

Green has been a bust in the NBA so far. Let's hope that he can turn it around back home.

It's weird that every trade but the Cavs trade is on NBA.com but ESPN is only reporting the Cavs trade.

Part of the ESPN LeBron love affair I guess :p

i doubt that Gerald Green will be an impact on this season which wouldn't be a big deal because Kirk Snyder rode the bench. Basically Morey made a bet, a possible 10 bagger per se. He gave up a future 2nd rounder for a player with unlimited potential. That potential being said - who knows if green can harness it. Will he be another tmac or another Swift? The difference between him and swift is...swift had/has a huge contract and this kid makes $1mm/year.

LOL have any of you seen this kid actually play? He's completely lost. I'm glad to see him come home where his motivation might be great, but seriously this kid lacks so much NBA savy right it's unreal. He won't make an impact this year or next. This kid easily needed 2 maybe even 3 years at the collegiate level figuring out how organized basketball is played.

I love GG's raw ability, but I also love Hot Sauce and the Proffessor's raw ability. They are playing in And 1 for a reason.

GG is in need of some serious basketball seasoning, they should send him down to the NBDL for a full season and let him play everyday. He won't get better sitting on an NBA bench. He couldn't get PT in Minnesota and Foye's been hurt all year.

I think that would probably help out his game dramatically, but I also think being around NBA savy guys like Shane Battier and Luis Scola will help as well...
