What the hell are they thinking?!

Bonzi is a KEY contributor off the bench and has significant post presence for a guard...

    THIS TRADE SUCKS!!

Hopefully, old man Jackson decides to get some "juice" from Brian McNamee and fails the physical.

What a buzzkill for Rockets fans.

18-3 in the last 21 and we are filled with optimism before the deadline...

only to find out that our owner made the team worse with a crappy, money-saving trade.

Anybody optimistic about next season since this one is over?

this is a guy who can create his own shot from the perimeter and run adelman's offense. he's a very good tutor for brooks.

bottom line is he's a better pg than brooks, and a better sg than head so our guard play just improved. i'm worried about our wing play with bonzi gone.

if there is another trade coming (head/snyder for wing player) then this was a very good move.

    So a recap...

    1st deal, Rockets and Hornets
Rockets send Mike James + Bonzi Wells
to Grizzlies for Bobby Jackson + Adam Haluska + Marcus Vinicius + 2nd round pick

    2nd deal, Rockets/Hornets and Grizzlies
Memphis are under the salary cap and absorb the contract of Marcus Vinicius
As a sweetner Rockets/Hornets send draft right to Malick Badiane + rights to unsigned Hornets player

It was probably Les not Morey.

I definitely think attendance will take a hit if this is it.

Thanks, Les. Thanks for making over 10 years of largely crappy decisions after getting lucky and building 2 win-now teams while Jordan was on hiatus.

I dont think Les Alexander would make this move if he seriously thought the Rockets could make a move in the playoffs this year.

The Rockets gave Bonzi away for nothing. Feigen's article might as well have been a press release created by the Rockets. This move has nothing to do with basketball.

I think they are starting to give up on this Yao-TMac era and set the table for the future. If Les really thought this team had a chance, I think he'd bite the bullet and not dump salary. And if it was about basketball, no way do they deal to the Hornets. I think the next logical move given this trade is dumping TMac in the offseason.

This is the polar opposite of the Scola deal. Losing MJ's contract is nice, but it's not worth giving up on the season. It's too bad this team wasn't given a chance even though they are on a nice run lately. I dont think Les buys into it at all. This trade effectively ends the Rockets season. Bonzi had really come on lately, is a great passer and rebounder, and talk that his minutes would get reduced because of a complete and utter scrub like Luther freakin Head is proposterous. The Rockets needed every key piece (Scola, Yao, TMac, Yao, Bonzi) to make a run. Without Bonzi, they just aren't going anywhere. I'm not sure they will make the playoffs...
