Trade: Bonzi, James for Bobby Jackson? (UPDATE: Done Deal)

oh, what a stupid trade. Come on Morey?????

 

This has got to be the dumbest trade. Pure salary dump. Yeah, that's all we need, ger rid of a solid rotation guy for ANOTHER WAFER. We already have Mike James, we don't need another one like him. All we did is give a division rival a another championship piece. Are you really going to tell me that they really wanted Mike James for a back up for Christ Paul...give me a break, this was a Bonzi trade for them.

I'm so stinking mad right now, we better have something else going on because this was a stupid move. We could have bought out Mike James contract and saved some money and been able to keep Bonzi.

By trading Bonzi, we lose a long big 2 guard which every team needs nowadays! A couple of years back, we were getting mismatched bec we lack big and long 2 guards! This doesnt make sense, considering the rotation has been working excellent. Im really sad and scared about this....

 

What I don't get is why is this thread voted 2 stars. It's not OP who pulled the trigger on this trade.

 

omg why can't anyone else see the brilliance of this trade? I'm going to stop ranting about it now... did it for like 6 posts in different threads now, but this is a great trade for the Rockets... SUPERB TRADE!

 

If this is the only move, management decided we aren't winning anything this year.

 

The Hornets fans think they are getting a solid improvement at the backup PG in Mike James. Thats how crappy Jackson has become. I think they are right too.

Although I love Bonzi's game and felt that he was a good fit here I am kind of glad we moved him. There was no way we could have afforded him especially if we milked him and he played well in the playoffs. It's a double-edged sword. Lets assume Bonzi played out of his mind (ala Kings vs Spurs) and Tracy and Yao stepped up and led us out of the first round and even the 2nd round just for kicks. Lets pretend we get bounced in the WCF and Bonzi averaged something ridiculous like 18ppg in the playoffs. YOU KNOW HE'S GOING TO ASK FOR A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF $$$$. He was a short term solution and he it turned out to be shorter than we all thought. Thanks for the memories Bonzi.

I don't think that's a commentary on Jackson as much as it's them believing that MJ is even CLOSE to the same player he was in Toronto.

We had a uniquely versatile player in Bonzi Wells and now we have a 35 year-old midget combo guard.
