The rookie felt pressure to make a trade. Somebody ate his lunch. Ridiculous. This trade seems like it was done more to get rid of the Mike James contract and save Les money than to actually improve the Rockets.

Bonzi was the only guy that gave this team some toughness. Bobby Jackson has bad knees. He has slowed down since his days with Sacramento.

Some of you wanted a trade. There you have it. A trade that actually makes us worse. I was perfectly fine with the way the Rockets were constructed.

By the way I don't think Bonzi is all sad about it. He goes to the best team in the Western Conference. Not a bad deal. A team that sorely needed a bench. Bonzi is a one man bench. Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and power forward = all in one player.

But, he did respect the heck out of Rick Adelman. Goes to show you about corporate America.

By the way, Bonzi has no one to blame but himself for turning down the money in Sacramento. He listened to his agent or the media and wanted to test the market. He found one suitable taker, and it was the Rockets.

You're assuming that. I'm sorry, but I think this is a solid basketball move as well as a slight cap relief. Les may have urged Morey to cut salary, but Morey did a nice job to get someone that IMO will really help in the long run.

It would potentially free up more room for Head or another 3-point shooter in the rotation. Barry brings a different skill set (shooting, passing, free throw shooting, smart team defender) which I think would be more valuable to this team. But that's just wishful thinking right now.

Oh, and LCII I checked and Bobby Jackson's 3-point shooting has actually been pretty good of late. Over 50% in January and February.

Why didn't he? He had 50 games to do the job. Bonzi was a smart player. Snyder can battle Stromile Swift in terms of IQ

The team is more balanced but the downside is how much better does NO get with Bonzi on their bench.

From NBAdraft.net a bio on Adam Haluska

    Adam Haluska
    Iowa

    NBA Comparison: Craig Ehlo
Strengths: Underrated athlete who doesn't get the credit as he should … Active player who usually does a solid job of moving without the ball … Tough player who plays the game with a great attitude and most importantly continues fighting throughout games … Possesses great upper body strength, enabling him to convert difficult shots … Possesses legit NBA three point range on his jumper … Is a player who can get on a roll quickly … Shows a feel for the game that few players possess … Patient player who has learned how to allow the game come to him … Has improved greatly in utilizing screens to get his shot off … Great work ethic and a high character guy who has blossomed into a solid leader … Upper body strength enables him to finish after contact has occurred … Defensively Haluska does a solid job of playing the passing lanes for steals … Highly efficient player who plays within his strengths and rarely tries to exceed them … Quick release allows him the ability to get his shot off despite tough defenders … Crafty scorer who understands how to draw fouls from opponennts with ease … Unselfish player with decent court vision … Ball handling ability is refined … A top level free throw shooter … His ability to shoot the rock gives him a chance as a role player - shooter off the bench ...

Weaknesses: May struggle to find a good position in the NBA as upon appearance he looks to be closer to 6-3 1/2 - 6-4 … than the 6-5 he is listed ... Defensively he struggles to defend opposing players with great quickness … While not terrible, his lateral quickness is below average … Needs to become more assertive and fight through screens and picks better … Not exceptionally creative generating offense for himself off the dribble. Keeps it simple … Doesn’t have a great first step which hampers him from gaining full separation from his defender, and thus less of a threat offensively … Lacks the body control to finish in traffic on his drives to the basket … Not a great shooter off the dribble as Haluska is better when his feet are set … Can go through periods where his jump shot is inconsistent … Does a good job of grabbing long rebounds but will not be a big rebounder on the NBA level … At times makes his shot harder than it has to be as he tries to sell contact to the refs by flailing his arms and legs … Potential isn’t great as he is close to maximizing it …
    Matthew Maurer - 3/9/2007
Strengths: An excellent jump shooter with good overall scoring ability … Can create shots for himself off the dribble, and is equally effective off the catch and shoot … Really understands the offensive end of the game and is crafty getting shots off … Solid decision maker with a good shot selection plus decent vision and passing ability … Moves well without the ball, running off screens … Very unselfish player, always looking to set up teammates for shots … Shows a willingness to go inside and grab rebounds (4.7 rebs per game in the Big 10 is impressive from the wing position) … Plays a very controlled game, at times almost too controlled … A solid defender on the college level, doesn’t gamble too often … An excellent free throw shooter (85%) and gets a fair amount of trips to the line (3.9 per game) … Durable player (has never missed a game in college)

Weaknesses: A stand out track star in high school who shows off his excellent athletic ability in spurts (needs to be more assertive) … His agility is good, but his aggressiveness going to the basket is limited some by his lack of physical strength … Did not show significant improvement from his sophomore to junior seasons, his outside shooting numbers actually dropped (from 39% to 35%) … At times he appears reluctant to take over … More than a year older than the average Senior after sitting out two seasons (including his transfer year from Iowa St.)

Notes: Haluska will be called upon to take over a much bigger part of the scoring load after averaging 13.9 ppg as a junior. 2006-07 is his year to shine with the departure of Greg Brunner (14.1 ppg) and Jeff Horner (13.6 ppg). The pressure will be on as opposing teams will surely focus their defensive strategies around stopping him …

Well, we just threw the hornets over the top.

bonzi wells will make them even more explosive.

mike james will run out and play better than rafer alston.

    rockets will not make playoffs.

les alexander will trade away tmac in the offseason.

    this is a nightmare

Yeah, that's why synder is playing in games right? Oh wait....when was the last time he played?

Morey made a terrible move. This one will hurt us down the strech and into the playoffs.
