this team is ridiculously loaded. all of their young players developed well and are contributing, not to mention they have an incredible starting lineup.

i guess i am somewhat influenced because they are winning 73-37 right now, but they are no joke.

it really makes me mad that they got pau gasol, and i don't see how any team can match this team's length, shooting, and depth. and the fact that they have kobe.

speaking of that game. Mike Bibby looks really weird in an Atlanta jersey.

I would say PJ and Kobe can take this team to a title. They have experience, Loads of experience along with Fisher.

The most annoying thing about the Lakers acquiring Gasol is the fact that they made such a horrible trade when they sent Caron Butler to Washington for Kwame Brown. In the end it worked out perfectly for them when they used Kwame's contract to get Gasol.

So in effect they made a shocking trade, then got lucky.

The Gasol trade may end up being the Rasheed Wallace trade of 2008.

They are pretty damn stacked. But I guess Stern is happy that one of his babies is doing well. Don't worry mr.dictator.. our Rockets won't let that happen in the end

I guess I'm nuts but I still think we stack up well against them. And I think our bench is much better than theirs.

Again -- they will have no problem blowing out weak teams. But I want to see how well they match up against the San Antonio's and Detroit's. Lamar Odom becomes a negative come playoff time as well, so we'll see how things work out.

Agreed. I still like our chances against LA in a 7 game series. Bynum and Gasol are nice players but I think Yao eats both for breakfast if we meet LA. Scola is also emerging as a good PF so it isn't like they can forget about him when he is on the court. Bottom line is that Yao/Scola are better than Bynum/Gasol. Now the real matchup would be Landry vs. Turiaf. Talk about two hustling, athletic youngsters going at it.

Kobe is Kobe so we would need Tmac to play good or great offensively to have a shot but he is known to do that in the playoffs. Advantage at PG has to go to LA with Fisher and Farmar but I don't think the advantage is as big as most people think.

Now that Odom has moved to SF is Tmac going to guard him? I assume that Battier stays with Kobe so that leaves whomever is at SG to guard Odom. I think that automatically takes Head's minutes and put Bonzi playing quite a bit which I think is a good thing. Since Odom does not utilize his size down low I think Tmac/Bonzi would be able to hold him relatively easy while beating off the dribble on the other side of the court.

I think overall that we still have a better team provided that both of our superstars play well and at least one other player gives us consistent scoring. I guess that's what we need to get by any team.

Wonder if they have enough shooting. Really Fisher is the only one to stretch the floor.

    Vujacic: 41.9% from 3
    Radmanovic: 41.8% from 3
    Derek Fisher: 41.7% from 3
    Jordan Farmar: 38.4% from 3
Kobe and Walton: 35.1% from 3

    LAL 10th overall in 3 point FG%.

Ugh, seriously wtf is wrong with you? Yao and Scola better than Gasol and Bynum? You know, I understand that your a homer of your team but please be realistic. The Lakers are no joke right now ALL AROUND...Offensively,Defensively, low post presence, rebounding, bench, closer, coaching. That team is simple stacked.

How are Bynum and Gasol > Yao & Scola? Neither can match up with Yao....

I agree LA is stacked but they don't have an advantage over us down low.

I still hate the Lakers and hope they never ever win a championship again. I'm praying that they lose in the 1st round so I can have a good laugh.

Sounds like a lurking Lakers fan decided to come out of the woodworks. It seems like the entire Laker fan base has coincidentally come out of the dark since Bynum's progress and the Gasol trade.
