tmac's confidence is down, you can obviously tell that from watching the games. he doesn't have that energy in his step, even when he goes to the rim, he doesn't seem to have the desire to tear down the rim... he's looking to dish or to draw the foul every once in a while, mac will hit a couple of jumpers and you can see him start to get going, he'll play with more energy and look for his shot. then he'll miss again and you can see the energy drain right from him. that's fine. more than anyone else in the league tmac is a guy who can catch fire any time. ideally he'll continue to just keep getting the other guys involved and the team chemistry will continue to improve. we only really need him to catch fire in the playoffs... in the meantime more touches for the scrubs can only mean more experience for them which will pay off in the playoffs
Tmac lost a lot of explosiveness since his knee injury. I hope he can recover by post season. If you watch the games, he's still a little slow on both offense and defense.
Woow..he did change this time..it's a good start though he didn't perform very well...i believe he could do better after he find his problems..our team's getting stronger...
I interpret that more as of a realization that to win means to trust your team. The old TMac would like his team to live and die by how he plays. He never passed the ball out and just took shots while double or triple teamed... didn't Hakeem used to play that way? Hopefully this sticks with him. A star player needs to sell to the opposing defenses that his team mates will make that shot forcing them to play himself or Yao one on one. Of course, his maturity is still in doubt. He can change his mind about this anytime and it'll suck again.
It´s great he realizes this, i hope he turns the right corner, i mean: Take better shots, wait for the game to go to him. Commit better effort on other areas of the game (defense). Take less shots and refer to the ones shooting better. Because ther eis no way you are saying this kind of things and then you go 6 of 21. That is the same like saying "I am sucking but i will let no one take my shots"
I also hope that realizing that "its not on him" anymore is not a big hit for his ego. Maybe he is just not a team player, i hope he can embrace his teammates success and not feel threatened by it.
thats good... cant learn from your mistakes... if you dont think you make any.... this team will live and die with Tmac... if he stays or gets traded 10 years... in the league....its time to step up
He spoke on his teammates as he often does. And as soooo many love to point out here, he makes 20 million a year, I think the same people that love to point that out, want to hear him explain why he's "sucking." Welcome to the boards...I think...
There's a big difference between calling unspecified people idiots and directing it at one individual. If the former bothers you I think the correct course of action is simple: ignore it.
interesting quote from tmac. the problem is, how to get yourself going without hurting the balanced attack?
Why doesn't he just practice more? His last game before the break he was measuring his threes - his form was completely different than usual. If your shot isn't going down, why don't you drive more? Basically he's admitting he's living and right now, dying by his jumper. I wish he would realize that and change, but I guess that's too much to hope for at this point in his career.
