If its fish, odds are I love it.

Salmon is my favorite, hands down.

I, myself, only eat food that has been tortured or maimed in some inhumane way.

I love me some r****ded veal cowmeat.

Not to say I don't like fish, I just like it a lil sexually abused.

    NaaMean?

I read that you're not supposed to marinate fish for longer than 15 minutes. If you do, it starts to break the meat down and will cause it to taste worse after it is cooked. My tuna still came out fine when I marinated it for too long, but the salmon was all jacked up by that..

The difference between freshwater and saltwater fish is usually the taste. Freshwater fish tend to be milder in taste (less fishy tasting) than saltwater fish, at least in my experiences.

I've never marinated fish. Fish easily takes the flavor of seasonings when applied.

I eat salmon 2-3 times a week. Only buy wild caught- favorites coho then sockeye. Easy to grill- just add lemon pepper- nothing else. The kids like a little mayo on it. Sometimes use cedar plank on grill for more of a smokey taste. Also can be broiled in the oven- again, just lemon pepper or salt and pepper. The key is not to overcook.

When I grill salmon I marinade them in 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water. Soak for two or three hours then grill.

Salmon has a very distinctive flavor, mahi, tuna, and swordfish are also very 'athletic' fish that have firmer flesh and a more 'fishy' taste.

Grouper, snapper, etc. are flakier, milder fish.

Catfish is a firm, EXTREMELY gamey fish, I like to eat it blackened. MMMMMM...

Tokyo One on I-35 and westhiemer (Ship Restaurant) is a great japanese buffet. On weekends they add sashimi to their buffet line. They have awesome quality for a buffet. Before becoming full time buffet, they actually had a order menu that was around 10-15 bucks. This isn't like some chinese restaurant where the rolls smell like Galveston and are made by illegal imigrants (no offense intended) but by real japanese sushi chefs right behind the line (their are 3 who work all day so you know that !@#% hasn't been sitting out there too long). They don't have a mass selection like Todai but for 15 bucks for sashimi (fatty salmon, tuna), rolls (all the usuals), tempura, teriyaki (chicken/beef) and more hot items, a salad bar (has a great asian sauce), and desert (they have pretty freakin good flan, FLAN! fruit and cakes).
The place is always packed but you never have to wait for a seat. I feel like I should get paid by them for writing such a great review. Just suggesting some fish eatery.

Salmon has too strong a flavor to me....I've only eaten it at Carrabas and the like. I enjoy Mahi Mahi, Founder - my favorite, Snapper and Tilapia

I eat Albacore tuna (in the pouch - packed in water)_at lunch sometimes when I brown bag

I agree with this. I tried salmon twice and both times the flavor was just too much for me.

It's gamey when it is caught in the wild. Farm-raised catfish has a very mild taste.
