Interesting quotes: “We don’t have a big window in our minds with this team,” coach Avery Johnson said. “Just like San Antonio and Phoenix and the Lakers and Houston, lots of teams on down the line, it’s a short window. Some teams younger may have a bigger window, but we’ve just have a small window.” From the teams that Johnson has mentioned: San Antonio - doesn't need a trade Phoenix - aquired Shaq Lakers - aquired Gasol and now the mavericks traded for Kidd. What are we to do now? “There are 30 teams and only two teams at the end of the day. There is no bigger stage than that. To be able to do that is great. Unfortunately, there is only one winner. Nothing is promised, but when you have other guys on your team that are in the same fight, it makes coming to work a lot easier.”
I think we need a trade. I still think this team comes up short offensively against the elite in a 7 game series.
Only the PG spot needs upgrading but currently RA is good. Unless we can get a solid PG (nearly impossible) otherwise I think let them gel and roll.
we should have a thread and poll as follows: Do you think we should have another poll or thread started about a trade? Yes: We need to keep down-grading members to rookies No: We have to save them from getting traded to other forums.
i'd give them brooks and landry... i'd keep scola and bring it in and get it done. rookies are nice but this is a team that hasn't been out of the first round we need production
It just depends on the deal. If we could manage Mike Miller for a reasonable price I'd be very interested in that. I'd also be interested in Artest or Andre Miller if they're available for a reasonable package - preferably a package of players with 1-2 years left on their deals like Francis, Snyder, Bonzi, Sura, etc.
i think we should stay pat. let's see how far this team can go, what the issues are, and then address them in the off season when we can get a permanent solution without throwing away players at a half-year rental.
Yup exactly. ...and this thread is misleading. "Do you want a trade" all of sudden becomes a question of whether or not we should be willing to include the rookies in any deal.
James or Head? Whose the back up for Parker? Vaughn??? Nash...Kidd...Paul...Williams? Point is our weakness at pg is Rafer not being as good as those players... unless we trade for a replacement...ala A. Miller, than losing our backup point is not a big concern when compared to gaining a M. Miller or Artest... I feel it, Artest to Houston. -V
