Duncan: 2/12, 7 pts and 15rbs Yao: 3/17, 16pts and 4rbs I think this is why they are superstars! Because, even when they have a bad shooting night, they still can find a way to help team win. BTW, I remember when Yao had an off shooting night before, he would had bad rbs as well. I think Yao is improving now, and he should be praised.
Add Duncan to the list of all-stars that are shooting poorly in their return game: DH + Yao + LeBron + Duncan. These guys are spent after the weekend.
To me, it gets the attention of anyone with some degree of intellect. Yao has plenty of faults, but to call him average when he is delivering 22,11, and 2 and carrying the team while Mac is having an injury plagued, off-year smacks of ignorance and/or stupidity.
As long as the Rox is winning I don't mind one or two players having an "off" night. The Rox is in fact playing a 10-player rotation and it only takes 5 to win . Take it easy. Just enjoy their winning streak. Go Rox!
Dude, come on. You knew you'd be piled on for starting this thread. You're being extremely reactionary just like everyone else in the GARM, after every single game. Yao could have a monster game against the Heat, and everyone would be singing his praises. He had an off night after the All-Star break. So what? We can live with poor shooting nights when the players around us are pitching in to help us win. We can even live with his 5+ turnovers a night. It's a team game, and the TEAM has been bringing it lately. We're on an 9 game winning streak. Detroit lost tonight so that's the best streak in the league right now. Be happy we're winning. Some fans can't stand when they have nothing to complain about, so they start grasping for straws. Don't stoop to that level.
I don't know what to say,, . If you want to bash yao you might as well bring Tmac in it who also had a bad game plus he was very lethargic on the court.
well, i've never been the type to just judge a guy based on his performance for a small period of time. i've been lovin tracy since he first became a rocket. i was the one who disagreed with everybody who talked of trading him. personally, i think he's the one piece we must hold on to if we do make a trade. he's way better of a player than his worth is right now. i think he's holding alot inside. maybe, he's letting his team get through the season so he can explode in the playoffs. in any case, he's taking it very carefully right now so he doesn't get hurt. Seems like he's saving all his feelings and emotions for the playoffs. this has nothing to do with tonight's game other than it being the last straw. i was really pulling for him, and he was looking much better for awhile there, but the he just reverted back to his regular self, just being way too soft, plain and simple. I thought he was finally making that huge leap for the first time in his career earlier in dec-jan where it seemed like he had atleast one dunk in every game. that was just the cherry on top though; he was really just overall being more aggressive on both ends, looking powerful, and playing with poise. That seemed to last for anywhere around a month or so, and it slowly began to disappear for no reason. At first, it was the game against the Bucks. Everyone was hating on him and calling him soft etc., i was saying it was only one game and he was prolly just nervous etc. Seems the next several games, he just never got it out of his system. He just plays so damn soft now. I know the guy has heart, but he just gets so nervous, he becomes nothing more than a liability. He just never takes control and yanks a rebound from a defender etc. Instead, he'll give it his 'the ball coming to me...' attempt, and at times, a more energetic forward flies up in his face and 'refuses' to let Yao get the ball. Yao loses balance a little bit, and looks down at the ground in embarrassment, and treads back up the other way. I really feel bad for the guy, i want him to kick-ass all over the place, but he's gotta just get pissed at some point and stop giving a s.... he needs to take control and know that he's going to get a dunk, before he even takes his first step, unless a defender ends up on the ground holding their face. I know that it may seem as though i'm all for just s...ing on top of the big fella everytime he has an off-night, but it's really not the case. I'm usually the one defending him and that's prolly why i got me the member staus so early. I really love Yao, but i've had enough of his errors and nervous mistakes. It just really ticks me off alot so times cause i rOOt for him so damn much, when he constantly flakes it up, i get pissed. Anyway. Trade his ass? Maybe. For Howard, Stoudamire, Brand and possibly Okaffor, but i'd really be happier if Yao would finally make that step in not taking crap from people. Much that that other dude said on page 4 or 5, it's not on the officials to blow the whistle every time Yao gets slapped or fouled; they'd be having him shoot 30 FTs per. Instead, it's up to him to defend himself and earn the respect of his teammates. (btw, soory bout the eddy curry thing, that was pure anger right there. )
