I didn't feel like bumping the old CL thread, and we needed a new one anyway

    This morning's draw:
    Celtic v Barcelona
    Lyon v Manchester United
    Schalke v Porto
    Liverpool v Inter Milan
    Roma v Real Madrid
    Arsenal v AC Milan
    Olympiakos v Chelsea
    Fenerbahce v Sevilla

For Arsenal, it's tough to be drawn against the defending champions, but they're having a down year right now so that gives some promise. Lyon v. ManU and Liverpool vs. Inter are massive matchups as well

Lyon was the team I was hoping to avoid. Oh well, they're not as good as they've been in passed years, but Benzema and Ben Arfa are two really good young players. Delighted to see Arsenal and Liverpool draws.

This year, the UEFA cup is more interesting, because Bayern is playing in it (and will win it) :p.

I'm an Arsenal fan and pretty happy with the draw. I think we play up to the competition in the CL, or down to it, so Milan should bring out the best in our play. Obviously they are the holders, but I think it will be two great games.

Second tier team for a second tier competition. :D

The matchups, with the exception of Arsenal - AC Milan, seem to be one sided, but then again that's why they play the games.

For once, I will be cheering for Arsenal...

    Go Liverpool!

It's been a disappointing domestic season so they must make up for it in Europe.

Inter will be a tough opponent.

    Wed:

Interesting to see how Liverpool comes out after their embarassing FA Cup demise..hehe.

They really shoudn't have any trouble. Since we lost our best defender (Cris), the team is definitely not as solid as it was the years before.

But the fan in me still wants to believe there is a chance.....

I normally root for all of the British teams in the CL, but part of me wants to see the Scouser chaos if they lose to Inter...

Looks like I'm taking a 2 hour lunch tomorrow

Liverpool seems to only play for the CL lately. I'm sure they'll do just fine.

Man U is on fire and is going to destroy Lyon (sorry, matpio).

liverpool is no longer even the best team in liverpool. I hope they get crunked on and they finally get rid of rafa who has done nothing but underachieve since 2005.

    Liverpool 2:0

    :D

This is clearly a different team when Fernando Torres is on the pitch. Not one of his better games, but Materazzi doesn't get any cards if he only has to deal with Robo-Crouch and Kuyt.

5 points dropped in our last two Premiership matches, I wouldn't exactly call that on fire...
