I can't believe I missed this thread. I've been to the Netherlands several times, my wife is half Dutch and has loads of relatives there, and before I met her, I had a Dutch girlfriend that I became very close to, and yet you claim to be from that country. It takes all kinds to make a world, so there must be prudes and bigots in the Netherlands... I just never met any. That makes me a very lucky man.

Do the people in here protesting the cheerleaders go into quickie marts and get pissed at the guy behind the counter because the store sells pron? I mean I think you are in the small minority who don't enjoy the dancers.
Add glam & sleaze rock happening at the same time with rap, and it was a 2 headed attack that forced the issue of "protecting" females... But what are you saying, calling girls hoes actually makes them self aware and change to have more respectful ways? Interesting.... I guess calling them "angels" and "precious" helps coax out the sluttiness better

I'd be pissed if he was selling it to 10 year olds, yeah. And that's a really bad analogy. A better analogy would be if I walked into a quickie mart with my 6 year old kid and there was a chick in the middle of the store stripping off her crotch pants with sexually suggestive moves.
The reactions here almost prove the thread starter has a valid point. Instead of just debating the issue, it's veered off into religion, burkas and ridicule. Deckard, someone I'm close to has met bigots in the Netherlands.
I agree.......as I'm getting older I'm realizing that I'm getting closer and closer to having a family of my own one day, so occassionally I tend to think in a more "family man" manner.....I won't shelter my kids from the world we live in, but I totally see why a parent (no matter how much they love ass shaking themselves) wouldn't want their kids to be bombarded with sex all the time........

Amidst all the responses, didnt even address the actual comments that instigated the discussions. Cuz I'm bored this president's day - Many people agree with you on that. Supporting points to that are.... See that has almost nothing to do with the comment. That didnt explain much of ANYTHING about how ridiculous cheerleading is. Veered off into something else - that America is on the unethical side when it comes to women, and religion is the way... I'm glad no one here made a bigger deal out of this. Besides girls dressing themselves slutty being the biggest crime imaginable, again lack of explanation to what exactly the "evil" aspect of cheerleading is. Having much more FUN in their lives. Getting to travel, meet people, attend big functions and events, help out the community...Things their peers male or female won't ever get the chance to do. ...valid points there...this one evil that could come from cheerleading and dancing... All I can say is, me and a coworker during our breaks at Starbucks have jokingly said "cosmetic enhancement for career advancement" about random women we see walking in. And these arent strippers or dancers at ALL...these are mostly older women who should already KNOW BETTER than give into that kind of societal pressure. Look, women are a mess in any age no matter what expectations you have of them. So thats why its boiled down to having no other alternative approach than to just glance at them and possibly enjoy the sight. Cuz like this stuff here, every other aspect of them is a blasted headache waiting to happen.
