SACRAMENTO -- Today marks the first day the Warriors can trade forward/center Marc Jackson.

And he made it clear he would like to be an ex-Warrior sooner rather than later.

"(Warriors general manager Garry St. Jean) can get it done with any one of those three teams," Jackson said of the three teams he is willing to play for -- Memphis, Orlando or Indiana. "But let's get it done. There's no more excuses. They want to get it done; I want to get it done. My teammates have come up to me and asked me what's going on. Let's make it happen."

Jackson, who must approve any trade, said he has informed St. Jean about the teams for which he is willing to play. Jackson also said St. Jean has come up to him in the past few days and asked him about possibly playing for a team other than Jackson's chosen three. But Jackson said he has declined.

Jackson signed a six-year, $24.375 million offer sheet with the Houston Rockets in October as a restricted free agent. The Warriors then matched the offer to retain Jackson's services. But the Warriors had to wait 90 days before they could trade him.

"I'm getting excited," Jackson said. "I'm praying it will happen. I am just hoping it gets done fast."

The Warriors are said to be interested in obtaining a draft pick in this summer's draft, which makes a deal with Memphis more unlikely than with Orlando or Indiana. The Grizzlies own the Rockets' first-round pick (from the Steve Francis trade) unless it is a lottery pick. With the Rockets a long way from the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, it is probable that pick would revert to Houston.

The Grizzlies own their own pick, but the Detroit Pistons can claim it if it's not a top-five selection. So, in essence, Memphis doesn't really have a 2002 draft pick to dangle in front of Golden State.

The Warriors might have a better opportunity to deal with the Magic, which owns seven first-round selections over the next four years. As for the Pacers, they are said to be looking for more frontcourt help.

    Etc.

Warriors point guard Larry Hughes missed his first seven shots Friday against Sacramento, taking all seven in the first six minutes of the game. ... Warriors rookie forward Troy Murphy was 1-for-17 from the field over his previous three games before Friday.
