    Chill atmosphere

    Not too expensive (over $30 a plate).

    P.F. Chang's in Highland Village near the Galleria... order the mongolian beef, chicken with orange peel, and chang's spicy chicken...

    Willie G's is nice, and within your budget. They have totally redone the decor since the fire a few years back, and the place looks great inside.

    The atmosphere is clubby, classy, and busy. You and your date can people watch and soak everything in if the conversation gets slow. Also, if your date is a dud, you can waltz up to the big bar and find somebody else.;)

    there's a new restaurant in the new Hotel Derek called Ling & Javier which is Chinese and Cuban cuisine. It's the trendy new place in town. haven't actually been there but heard the food is good and the atmosphere is great for a date

    Brennan's. Expensive but extremely nice. It's on Smith.

    Try America's. It's a little pricey, but with some creativity, you can keep the bill respectable. Great atmosphere; food is excellent...
