The Pistons get their back-up pg from their championship yr while giving up only spare parts.

Sacramento gets cap relief and a young shooter to match with K-Mart. If they do not want Hayes, a fourth team could be added to take him on for an expiring.

Houston gets Artest and a back-up Center for only spare parts. They now have a line-up rivaling the Lakers and the top of the West. Most likely, some form of compensation will be given to the other parties (picks, cash)

Line-Up:
C-Yao/Brezec/Mutombo
PF-Scola/Landry/Artest
SF-Artest/Battier/Novak
SG-McGrady/Bonzi/Harris*
PG-Alston/Brooks/Francis

i havent posted much but i would do rafer, and tmac and 2nd rounder for kevin martin, artest, and bibby contignent on artest signing long term. I think our squad would be excellent with that deal. T mac is a great player but I doubt he has what it takes in a deep western conference to be a winner.

Wow. That's a hell-of-a-trade. I think I'd do that as well and it seems fair on both sides. The kicker is of course that we get a guarentee from Artest and that we'd have enough money for Artest.

Do we have enough money coming off the books to sign Artest next season? Mutumbo, Steve and Bonzi, right? That's not enough for Artest. I guess we'd have TMac/Rafer's difference to Bibby + Martin.

But there is no way the Maloof's would do that given that they've said they are angry with Adelman.

Only problem with Artest is that he is a beast ...sometimes. TMac, when healthy, is always a beast. Artest just goes into cruise control too often. TMac settles for jumpers but he'll always put up 20+ppg. Artest has too many sub 20ppg games given his talent.

Yeah, I'm the Detroit GM and it sucks ass. Why would I want to give up two expiring contracts for a Mike James who has looked like crap the last two years and has a crappy contract? No thanks. Click.

I'm the Houston GM. Of course, that's a no brainer!

Yeah, I'm the Sacramento GM and it sucks ass. My bosses the Maloofs said I can't trade with you and even if i could why would I give up a really good player for your scraps? If I'm giving you a really good player for your scraps then you have to do me a favor and take Kenny Thomas' crappy contract off the books for me. Click.

It only makes sense for the Rockets. And a side note, we're not getting Artest. I'm surprised to even see people still talking about this.

what does artest think of adelman???? Im sure he would love to play for his former coach after his contract finishes, and Im sure he would settle on 10 million a year...how about throwing the kings luther head, brooks, mike james and a future pick....then lock in artest for a longer contract

The Kings probably aren't going to part with Artest now, seeing as they just dealt Bibby to the Hawks for Shelden Williams and cap-filler.

Our team is good right now..

But maybe in the summer try to trade like steve francis and somebody like kirk snyder and a draft pick for him,

that sounds fair but they probably still wont do it

Could not have said it better myself. ;) It's fascinating to see how their minds work. You're not going to get something for nothing and you're not going to give up nothing for something.

You don't do a trade IMO that mortgages the future and/or does not immediately appreciate the teams on court performance.

Artest as a rental, I don't like that possibility. If we cannot get him for at least 2 to 3 additional years, this venture would be pointless.

You gotta figure we can trade Steve Francis, wait no..... SF3, for Artest just because his HEART is so big that he's definitely a top-3 PG with all that HEART so lets do that trade quickly.

Seriously....I say we stick with Scola.

You guys are overhyping our players way too much. Remember when we were all high on Vassilis Spanoulis? Look where he is now. As much as I hate to say it I see the same thing happening to Aaron Brooks.

Just do it.

We can play smaller ball and stick Artest at PF. Artest is bad. He has the quickness of an SF and the power of a PF. The only other dude in the league who is like that is like LeBron James. Stick him at PF.

Not sure why anyone would want to take a chance on Artest. As I said before, he's probably one brawl from a lifetime ban.
