SUPERMAN THAT HOE is just slang for DO THE SUPERMAN DANCE. I don't think that constitutes as degrading. Degrading to what?

It makes total sense to compare a layup to someone who throws the ball down from above the rim. Layups are equally impressive so people are stupid for being impressed with something that was a layup.

Seriously, the people complaining that it shouldn't count are no different than David Stern who didn't want to raise the rim to 12 feet. This is a competition for entertainment, not the freakin olympics.

Any time Karl Malone is a judge, that is an indication that this is not a serious competition.

Oh come on ... some of you people need to ease off the haterade the little bit.

This was the best dunk contest in several years, and the level of creativity displayed was impressive. I think the superman dunk deserves to be in the conversation of greatest dunks of all time... for the sheer creativity and athleticism displayed. Being as big as Howard is, taking off from where he did, showing hangtime, elevating way above the rim, it was the complete package. And anyone nitpicking about him not actually hitting the rim with his hand is just a hater.

I thought Gerald Green was quite underrated, especially for the birthday cake and the shoeless dunk, but there was no question who owned the show tonight.

How the hell do you know if people on this board can dunk a basketball or not? And you don't have to be the smartest person in the world to know what a dunk is. And what Howard did wasn't a dunk.

Well, if I ranked the dunks tonight, the best was Howard tapping the lob pass off the glass with his left hand and finishing it strong with his right. The dunk is conceptually brilliant, and Howard's motion in the air is beautiful and fluid. Second best is the under-appreciated birthday dunk by Gerald Green. Wonderful showmanship.

I think too often tonight we saw otherwise incredible dunk attempts marred by the completely unnecessary inclusion of a second-party.

I'm not hating on him. All I'm saying is that wasn't a dunk.

No, wrong. The definition of a dunk is throwing the ball into the hoop from above the rim. I dare you to show me a dictionary definition that mentions anything about grabbing the rim.

No no you could not!!!!!! Ferocious layup lol no you could not

1st point if you watch dwight howard all season you would know that half the time he dunks like that without touching the rim.

2nd point I guess haters will hate on anything they possibly can. "WOW man that superman layup from like a foot about the rim sure did suck big time!!" Now I can sleep easier. lol

Just hilarious how a fantastic dunk can get so much hate.

I think Moon was robbed by the fact that he *had* to use another NBA player to assist him on his dunk.. I think he would've been able to jump from that tape had he not have to focus also on catching the lobbed basketball.

I don't see how my or anyone other than Dwight Howard or Gerald green's dunking ability has anything to do with it.

btw, I have dunked in the past. I've gone through some health problems recently that have kept me pretty inactive and almost completely off the basketball court, so my leaping ability isn't near what it used to be.

seriously, that gerald green dunk with his SOCKS!!!!

Try running on a wooden floor with socks, and you will know how hard is it to run, balance yourself, sky into the air, do a windmill while at it, and put it in.

Kenny KILLS that dunk when he said: "why is it the same dunk......."

    That dunk IS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the superman dunk, its almost the same dunk for Dwight Howard and Moon, its basically jump as far out as you can and dunk it,
but add in, that first dunk, the cape, the suit and then the HANG TIME, thats what we came to see, excitement, and he done it with his first try!!

Dwight Howard wins this fair and square, but Gerald Green is MUCH closer than what others thinks.

Who that punk was? That first judge, the one that threw Green's shoes. He is just biased, he even gave a EIGHT for that Birthday Cake dunk. SACK him!!!!
He should not even be in it, as i remember Magic says that the dude cant dunk, how would he know how hard to do those dunks.

Dr. J, my hats off you for your comment on trying to gain some votes for Green, but your "speech" is abit too long.

Great competition, but why not try to have all 4 dunkers do 4 dunks each and then the fans vote in. I was waiting to see Moon's dunk, the one that he promote, and i think Gay have something up his sleeves as well.

I'm 5', 11'' and have been dunking since I was 15 years old. Not like what we saw tonight, obviously, but I fail to see how it's a requirement to have an opinion. As far as I know, there was no such requirement to vote on the finals.

Dwight suffers form the Tracy McGrady syndrome. Enemy of the State I starrring Dwight Howard featuring Yao Ming and and Enemy of the State II starring Tracy McGrady and featuring Yao Ming.

Dwight should win the competition based only on his big smile. Gerald Green looked like a gangbanger that didn't want to be there
