Sup Guys, I just recently graduated from college and I am in the job market. anyways I got called back for a second interview with a company called EM & Associates. It is an outsourcing sales and marketing firm. Anyways if any of you know anything about this company or know if anyone has worked there can you tell me a little bit about them. I interviewed on Thursday and got called back for a second interview for the next day. The president is the one who interviewed me. They didnt really ask any behavioral based questions, so can I expect them for a second interview?
EM & Associates? Sounds familiar...like one of those sales and marketing places that's basically a scam so they have to bombard my freaking e-mail inbox all the time trying to hire me.
I was duped into one of these back in 2004. One of the worst days of my life. Don't bother with them.
I think I did this for one day back in the mid-90's (I was fairly drugged up back then and didn't know any better). I went out with a guy in a POS Chevette with no a/c to Lake Jackson. All we did was go door to door and I was never exactly sure what we were selling. I just smiled and watched. It was just completely awful. I never came back. That's still only 2nd to my one day as a roaming speaker salesman. I don't want to talk about that experience.
wow! i too got sucked into one of these deals when i was fresh out of college. on my interview day, I was dressed professionally for what I figured was an office job. after the president interviews me, i'm feeling good about the job, so he sends me to to take a ride with a couple of the employees to see how the typical day is. at this point, i should have backed out, because it seemed sketchy, but i tagged along anyway. eventually, we end up in tomball and we basically walked up and down the main highway selling these paintball excursions to different businesses. all this in the heat of the summer with a long-sleeved shirt, a tie, slacks, and some shoes that I'd previously thought were comfortable. after walking about 3 miles up and down this road, my shoes were severely stretched out, my dogs were barking, and my shirt was soaked. but, he did pay for my 99 cent taco bell burrito. hands down, the worst interview ever. and, they drove so i couldn't just leave after the first 5 minutes. stay away if you can!
you have to flip the script and play these suckas right back. after your interview. go into their restroom and lay a deuce on their urinal.
scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i've been to a few of them lol.. it's almost a hobby to go to their "group interviews" then ask them a lot of questions to make them stutter and sweat.
You were one of THOSE guys???!?!?!? In the white vans yelling at me constantly to get me to roll my window down so you can sell me some "speakers for cheap b/c the guy you were supposed to deliver them to doesn't want them and you can't return them back to your store" and you end up trying to sell a big steaming pile of cheap ass non functioning speakers for $400?
Yes. Only did it for the one day but I'm still not proud of it. To be fair, the speakers we were selling really were nice and did work.
Dude, i did the same thing fresh out of college. i couldnt believe i fell for it, I was so pissed off. At least I got the guy I rode with to pay for my meal at whataburger. OOh i was angry, just a wasted day. EQ marketing in dallas was the name of the bastards.
