    C-Dirk
    PF-Eddie
    SF-KT/Walt
    SG-Cuttino
    PG-Moochie

    C-Cato
    PF-Eddie
    SF-KT/Walt
    SG-Cuttino
    PG-Steve

Which is better? If you answer the 2nd lineup you're insane.

You don't need a PG to win the in the NBA.

The Bulls and Lakers have had average to below average PG's.

Hell, the Spurs had Avery Johnson the year they won. We had Kenny Smith.

Having a PG is not a pre-requisite to win.

    kidrock,

Steve is a floor leader, but not a true point guard. Remember Isaiah Thomas comparing himself to Steve? He's not too far off. If memory serves me correctly, the Detroit Pistons won the NBA title with a dynamic backcourt.

Eddie gives up his body, bangs, blocks, and rebounds.

Mo Taylor consistantly hits the money jumpshot.

This is exactly what Nowitzki gives you.

I like a lineup with Steve and Mo or Steve and Eddie in it better than Moochie/Dirk.

Mooch is not a starting pg.

    That's my opinion.

Finalsbound-Hopefully we could trade a Mo T or KT for a decent PG.

I just don't think Mo is an adequate PF to win.

I'd rather have a hole at PG, than PF.

If I'm not a Rockets fan, yes, I will do the trade in a heartbeat. DaDa is right. Taller player on a similar skill level is ALWAYS a better choice for a team. And Dirk is a frontcourt player, isn't he? :)

Well, then I'm still a Rockets fan! :D

c'mon what is this? francis partys too much? where is this coming from, cause somebody maybe saw him at a strip club. ok, so what, it wouldn't make one difference. i believe magic johnson and wilt chamberlain did their fair share of partying, but they still performed. he doesn't show up for big games? where are the stats for that? when was our last big game anyway? these are bogus accusations that i'd expect from an uninformed fan for another team. But instead they are coming from hardcore rockets fans who have gotten so pissed at the season the've gotten real negative.

imho francis hustles his ass off on the court and leaves everything there. theres a reason he averages 8 boards a game as a point guard. he's had a banged up season, and i'm sure you couldn't even count the games on two hands in which he's played 100%. we are dreadful without him but we are without question in the playoff hunt with him healthy the whole year.

houston fans are truly what have you done for me lately. steve hasn't won a championship in all of his 2+ years so people already give up. c'mon how long did it take jordan to learn how to win? dirk is a freak but no way would i ever give up steve for him. i'm looking to the future and i believe the franchise will get us a ring.

Dallas will have no problem holding onto Dirk. A team that might be looking to trade though would be the Spurs. Duncan leaving is almost a forgone conclusion now. Outside of Timmy D, that team stinks. Maybe Steve, Mo, Collier, and Cato could land us Duncan + filler? That trade I would do in a heartbeat.

    5 - Duncan, Willis
    4 - Griffin, Thomas, Langhi
    3 - Rice, Williams, Morris
    2 - Mobley, Torres
    1 - TLD, Brown

Dirk for Steve straight up? Tempting, but I have to agree about not wanting to start Moochie.

I might consider it if we could somehow work Nash into the deal.

Are you guys seriously going crazy?
I don't care how good Dirk is, Steve isn't going anywhere. He's the FRANCHISE...come on now, the whole point of this thread was to make fun of Russ Small's dumb a** for saying he would trade Stevie for Dirk.
Steve isn't going anywhere. I don't buy the whole "strip club" theory either. Oh yeah, my best friend's uncle's brother in law saw MJ and Rich Hamilton at a strip club in Chicago, thas why Rich has a pulled groin...<enough BS>....

the disparity between the rockets record with and without francis should point to how important his role is to this team. I am not sure Dirk's presence would creat such a gap between the two records.

I think a lot of people would go for Francis/Cato for Dirk/Nash - just noone who roots for Dallas. :D :D :D

Cato's contract would just be another brick in the wall for Cuban.

I'm not saying it's a deal Dallas would/should do - but that's what it would take to pry Francis away from me.

    Steve Nash+Dirk Nowitzki

Glad to find someone to agree with. Just reading half of these comments make me sick. How could anyone even think of trading Francis at all.

Sounds like trading the Rockets for the Mavericks.

If I were Steve Francis reading this, I'd be thinking a little more than before about Washington.

    I would.

In a heartbeat. Steve is great, and I love him, but I have to be realistic here. Those two Mavs are better than our two Rockets.
