no to artest! dude is a freaking time bomb and he will destroy chemistry. if the guy only realized he was a very good role player and not a lead player then it might be ok but he would still be insane. we would gain talent but lose faaar too much in chemistry and our future. having brooks and scola extends our window of potential championship runs. artest will be half a season and done. f him.

Scola for Artest straightup....maybe. WITH Brooks - screw that! Really any trade other than a pg is meaningless. Alston may have moments, quarters, games, maybe even a week or two - but he will never take us to the promised land. Any team led by Alston will never win anything - accept maybe the lottery. Soooooooooooo until Addleminded and Morely are willing to pull the trigger on A REAL PG (how the hell did we not get Stoudamire - probably the mistreatment/misrepresentation of Francis) anything else is meaningless.

There is no chance i would do this trade. There is a reason teams always end up getting rid of players like Artest. They just arent worth the trouble. His talent is tempting but you can almost guarantee chemistry issues with him onboard.

And giving up AB or Scola... no way...

No we do not need artest. Yes he's a big upgrade over Battier, he's a lockdown defender with well offensive capibility, good enough to be 2nd scoring option even, but that's not our first priority.

To contend in the west, we need a starting PG...

This team cannot sign any players who command more than 10mil, with TMac and Yao on the payroll, so just drop the topic, forget about the trade.

NO please. We don't need a mad man to destroy the locker room chemistry.

the more I think about it, the less I want Artest.

that guy is not going to even try to play within the offense, he'll just jack up shots and play one on one. If we can give up just any combination of Francis, Snyder, or Mike James then maybe. But hell to the no for Scola or any of our core rotation players. Artest ain't helping any team to a championship anytime soon.

I just love that article just basically naming the price to get Artest, like they can dictate what they want for a loose cannon that will opt out after the season is over.

Good point, but Sheed resigned with Detroit. If Artest came here, then bolted, we'd be giving up potential for basically nothing.......which is okay if we win the ship, but if we don't, then we'd be giving away some good pieces.

That would be a horrible trade. It would be just like when we got rid of Cassell for Barkley. It's just not worth it. I prefer future potential rather than 1 or 2 years of greatness from a declining star.

ive been saying this for a long time now....we need a ron artest on the rockets. he knows the system played well with bonzi before. we would have one of the best defensive teams with ron ron and battier and yao. even when ron sits battier comes in and we lost nothing on defense. also artest is the player that fits this system RA has perfectly. he cuts he slashes...drives hard to the rim gets contact and can hit an open 3. yea he might have issues but so did rasheed wallace and we all know how that turned out. Artest has been pretty quiet in all his trouble making days and a chance to win and playing with guys with class like yao and tracy and shane may rub off on him.

with all that said...no way i include scola in that deal....we need scola bad....
no way they take mike james and his r****ded contract. but francis, hayes,

Lets see. Pau to la,kidd to dallas, shaq to phoe, damon to sa and the rox who were lower than those teams don't want to give up a marginal player for a player in the top 10 at his position.

That's why I don't like a number cruncher running the rox. Sometimes u just have to look at the game. Everything the fans want added on this team, he can bring it and all u have to give up is shane?

Gimme a F#@!%+g break. I mean people on this board say the rox need a 3rd scorer, that's artest. People say they need a enforcer, that's artest. He's still young and he has that edge. I know about his past transgressions, but that's in the past. Artest is a very, very good player. He's a great defender, good offensive player and a dog!

Sometimes I wonder what game people are watching. Stand pat and get passed up should be the motto of some of u guys.

What do you think about trading T-Mac for Artest and Bibby?
